DS found Paper 1 easy, yet has lost 4 marks (known!). He panicked for Paper 2, ended up doing 5 questions using guess-n-check method. He said he worked backwards and the answers from these were correct. Glad he had time to check but is it totally acceptable to use this method? He says it is. After all that time i spent coaching the various methods…and he ended up using guess-n-check (‘primitive’ method imo, hahaha). I am going to catch Johnny English tonight to cheer myself up.

Does anyone remember the whole question in which is something about red and green apples? Does anyone also remember the exact question for the bar graph or is able to provide the pie chart thing?

Can I just check for math, if working, my ds didn't put units but final answer put units. Is that ok? (I mean the working no units)

My teacher said that units in working was required for Angles, $$$, Volume, Area, Perimeter, Weight.

I solved many questions using guess n check cause I don’t know how to do the proper method. Overall, Paper 1 was tougher than Paper 2. However, Paper 2 is rather tricky, as in we must read the questions properly. The pictures may trick us too. My math overall is quite well done. Got 97.5 for prelim but the paper was very easy. From top class in Clementi Pri

To me, both papers were quite okay, I can't seem to find any methods for the questions. As in the name of the methods. But bascially, what I did was quite straightforward. Just as assigning units for question 18 and working forward.

Think most of us overlook the time factor in paper I.

Normally I let DS do the school’s prelim papers without really timing.

When DS2’s turn in 2 year’s time must time him for paper I speed practice alerady.

Agree. We learn something each PSLE. So far Paper 1 seldom hear kids having time management problem. I think thus far the champion for fastest timing is Pandan Cake - finish in 25 mins for Paper 1 and 35 mins for Paper 2 :scared: :yikes: 😓 !!!! And kudos to caring sister Vanilla Cake :salute: - hope her own sec sch exam is fine too. VC mum very blessed :imcool: :please:
