I heard that from my friend that someone in ATS cheated (somehow) and the others told the invigilator. The invigilator just told them not to ruin their friend's future and ignored it. Dunno if it is true...Mwahahaha XD:
Our sch top scorer cheated for paper 1 eh... Will minus 40 or 100 uh? Anyone noe?
She DID not cheat for paper 1. She got misunderstood. she wanted to change the answer but heard 'times up' so she flip back to cover page. just that some people think she's cheating. And she proved she did not cheat -
Deforestation is the cutting down large numbers of trees to use the land for something instead of a forest. Cutting down trees can affect the climate. After rain falls on a forest, mist rises and new rain clouds form. When forests are cut down, this cycle is disrupted, and the area eventually grows drier, causing a change in the local climate. If huge areas of trees are cut down, the carbon dioxide they would have used builds up in the atmosphere and contributes to the greenhouse effect. And without trees to hold the soil and absorb water, rain washes topsoil away, a process called soil erosion.
Just sharing some informations

Logically C is true cos shade definitely will block off sunlight and cool down the temperature.
A and b are definitely correct as all the options have a and b. C is wrong as c happens only because of the depletion of the ozone layer and global warming isn't involved. For d, the life forms also refer to plants as they have lives too, and when all of them die, decomposition happens and more carbon dioxide will be released into the atmosphere and would thus enhance global warming. So, my answer is (3) hope this helps....Ms tay:
Posted this on science thread but no answer. does anyone know the answer? desperate.....no one answered yet.
Question:
Cutting down of trees will cause the phenomenon 'global warming'. Which of the following are involved in global warming?
A: burning of trees causes the carbon in the tree to combine with oxygen in the air to form carbon dioxide.
B: Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere acts as a blanket to trap heat in the Earth.
Without trees, Sun heats up te Earth's surface directly.
Soil erosion will destroy aquatic life forms, which in turn will enhance global warming subsequently.
(1) A and B only
(2) A, B and C only
(3) A, B and D only
(4) A, B, C and D
Answer is (4). My son doesn't think C and D are involved in global warming. Is he correct or is he wrong. His answer is (1).
And that has nothing to do with the ozone layer which is another story.
Ozone layer problem mainly concerns UV light radiation and not global warming.
So I think it's 4.
But the option said directly, and only when the ozone layer is depleted will the sun heat the earth DIRECTLY.
-
Actually u are right… When the ozone layer is depleted, the sun will heat up the earth directly… As, the ozone layer is just like a shelter, when the shelter is destroyed, u have no shelter to protect u thus the sun will directly heat up the earth…
-
The gas called ozone protects the earth from the direct rays from the sun by forming a layer in the atmosphere. If not this layer the heat of the sun will get to the earth directly. When this ozone layer is depleted through the action of some chemicals man has no shelter again from the ultraviolent rays of the sun which can cause sunburn and skin cancer. There are also other negative effects of this ray from the sun.

But is the ozone layer completely depleted? If not, then the sun won't directly heat the Earth, right? -

Usaully the t-score for chinese is the lowest compared to the other three languages am I right ??r2010:
When the t score is calculated. Is the standard deviation and mean for malay Tamil Chinese and ntil is separately calculated?
Should be. Cos their standard may be different.
So, if the tamil is tougher than Mandarin for this year, so the mean will be lower and t score will be higher?
Depends on its standard deviation as lesser people take Tamil.
‘gai bian’ is a verb which is neutral, therefore its proper use depends on the sentence structure. In the question, it was mentioned ’ the smile ’ …then 两个朋友之间不愉快的心情, meaning the the proper verb should one which has positive impact to the unhappiness.
In that case, ’ xiao chu’ which means eliminate is proper. -
Helping--Hand:
I think 消除 is the correct answer :\\
Answer from me : 消除. Somehow, I think 改变 is permanent changes. We use 'elimination of sour feeling' and not 'change of sour feeling'. My guessing only.stickyz:
so is the answer for that question gai bian or xiao chu!!!:s.....
I guess nobody knows the correct answer unless you are a teacher? For me I put but after reading it again I think it is 改变? Sorry for not be able to give the answer... Guess I am not helping at all...
