my guess top student this year from Tao Nan.
Not likely NYPS coz they had one just in 2008. But also quite likely top student this year may be from one of the minority groups! Havent had one in a few years! -

There are so many primary schools and thousands of scripts. Even though it's computerised, still need people to key in the marks and so on. I'm sure they have people to double-checked again.Does anyone knows why it takes 8 weeks to release the PSLE results?
The PSLE is already brought forward by a week for this year. Marking 4 days (say a week). Sending the scripts to HQ and redistributing back to school give them 1 week. Moderations and putting it into bell curve (can be computerised) - give them 3 days.
All in all 3 weeks.
It could be more efficient and give sec schools more time to do open house and parents/students more time to think through (after getting the actual results). After all, the students will be spending 4 to 5 yrs of their life in the new school. They are only given 7 days to consider.... -

Maybe they know each other.
Judging by the DSA success rate in one of the GE class, PLSE result this year may not be that great.
But then there is one or two very brilliant student in another GE class. -
Just like to check whether any of you regretted letting your DS/DD opted out of HCL. Or anyone regretted opting for HCL ?
Did it take up a lot of time revising for PSLE HCL ?
DS2ās meet the parents session is tomorrow and a decision has to be made on whether to continue with HCL or just do CL for P5 and P6.
I know a student has to achieve certain marks in each subject to continue doing HCL but not sure whether parents can opt for CL if the child fulfill the criteria to do HCL.
My DS2 basically never read anything on Chinese apart from Doremon comics. Actually he is not an avid reader so not much reading on English books as well.
Problem is he did well for his SA2, even HCL results was not bad (enough to continue in P5).
DW and me are just not sure whether he can cope with HCL till PSLE or not. -

from my DS experience, revising for HCL means no separate revision needed for CL. HCL is just doing a little more than CL. Depending on specific school's idea on 'kpi' - NYPS encourages everyone who has met the HCL requirement to take up HCL.Just like to check whether any of you regretted letting your DS/DD opted out of HCL. for miracle for kids..everyone score well :rahrah: :rahrah: ....Anyway, our side quite bad.....I heard that after the maths paper most kids complain even the GE class say it's difficult but I do believe there are one or two outstanding in GE class..

ngbrdad:
Dear ngbrdad, you can opt out HCL even your child did not fail HCL when you are in P5 going to P6, my DS1 did that.... he did not want to spend more time on this subject.... if your child is struggle for pass in HCL then is better to give up...if not it's better to carry on until secondary it is a point for deduction for O level... my DS1 regretted his CL for O level is A1 but did not take HCL hence no extra marks for deduction....have to consider carefully.Just like to check whether any of you regretted letting your DS/DD opted out of HCL. Hi Skss

How come the papers would be returned to respective schools? For what purpose?
Thanks.
