Is it safe to choose a school as your first choice if the score is only 1 point difference from the cop? Example the cop of the school is 250 and the score is 251?

Why not ?
If you qualify for your second choice, it doesn't affect the outcome whether you put it first or second choice.

I don't know why if I put 7801 (NUS High) into the option list, it shows 'Invalid'. NUS High is so special?

NUSH does not participate in the S1 Central Posting Exercise. They do their own admissions. Check out their website for more info.

My ds got 249+2. She got 2A* for chinese ,science and 2A for the other subjects. My preference is River Valley High School IP

Now for my query:
my DD got 259. we want to choose RGS as her first choice,and hope she gets in, if not plan to appeal.
but for the second choice we are not sure whether to put NJC or cedar.

please advice.

259 for RGS is very risky even with appeal. NJC or even Nanyang is a safer bet. Coz Nanyang takes in students with 257 or less in some years if they are from Nanyang Pri. due to affiliation. RGS no affiliation.

I got 267 for PSLE with 4 A*s and merit for hcl. I am going to RGS as I already accepted the DSA CO there. Anyway, 267 qualifies for third Lang, right? I am really not sure coz I am overseas now and my grandma collected my results for me, so I haven't received the S1 option form. And which third Lang should I choose? So far I am thinking of choosing Japanese. Any ideas?
Also, do you know whether third Lang is very stressful and whether I should apply for it? Please advise, I am only a kid!

Yes, you qualify for third lang. Cut off for third lang in the past has been around 250 so your friend would need to check her slip to confirm.

Third lang is once a week. Secondary life is much busier than primary school. School hours are longer and you have to stay back for CCA 2-3x a week. Many girls drop third lang after the first year because they'd rather focus on their core subjects. But those who stay on are those who do very well. You won't know if you'll like your third lang or if you'll do well unless you try. So if you're up for it, give it a shot.

IMHO, a bit risky. I expect the COP for RVHS to be higher than 251.

As your dd was not from NYPS and did not get any COs, she'll be participating in the S1 Central Posting Exercise. If I remember correctly her results are 259+3 right? Go ahead and put NYGH as first choice. If she doesn't get in, and if you still really want NYGH, appeal after the results are out.

I don't think there's a point in appealing now for NYGH bec your dd didn't get called for the interview. And her 259+3 might get her in automatically through the S1 Central Posting.

SJI is near SCGS, on Whitley Road. Not that far from Clementi. Maybe 15-20 min by car?

By public transport will take quite a while though.

There is bus 156 and 154 along Whitley Road, should be within 30 mins by bus from Clementi.
