Hi phtthp,
dear sister jtoh,
i apologise to you if those things i said sound harsh. I'm now going to purge away all those things that i had said earlier. Bec in my heart, I still regard you highly, because you'd given wonderful, precious great advice to me in the past many times before. Thank you very much, dear sister jtoh.
Just got home and read your note. No hard feelings.

Hi! We will definitely put our 1st choice our dream school but we are behind marks just want to know whether any chance or not...we are 3 marks behind...I do hope there is a chance.
Put very safe 2nd and 3rd choices.
Think many people still very uncertain abt the S1 and still asking about their chance.Nebbermind:
this Q has been asked many times before, probably u miss it here.....
the system will rank on merit,
meaning the system will allocate a place for whoever agg score higher than yr boy first,
before coming to yr boy's turn, regardless of he putting it as 1 st choice or not....
Shouldn't one just put in his/her dream school and let the system decide? -

Blur Dad, have you personally approached HCI to RI ? May be you should no harm give it a try.
Give it your last shot and give those schools a call, but maybe don't let your kid know, prepare for ACSI. It is a great school, no inferior in terms of curriculum in any sense. That IB at the end of the day is recognized in more unis than 'A' levels, so take heart. Things happen for good reasons, if you believe in that, you will find things will keep falling in place for you without you worrying that much. :celebrate:
Hi phtthpBlur Dad:
hi BlurDad,
i had helped you pose your 2 questions to the HCI presenter.
here is his reply:-
a) if a child has already accepted a DSA offer from ACS (I) - there is no chance for an appeal according to MOE regulations.
b) a T-score of 257+2 stands a very good chance of entering HCI.
BUT he must place HCI as first choice in the S1 option form.
Thank you very for your help.
I guess, my DS would not have any chance appeal to HCI. As he was already accepted by ACS(I) via DSA. For RI, with T-Socre 256, I guess it is almost impossible.
Will ask my DS to accept the reality and encourage him to work hard in ACS(I). -

Help me to decide should i let ds take msp as 3rd language or nothing at all ? Is it much easier compared to malay as a second language ? If i leave it to him he will surely choose not to.
I hear that MSP is easier than Malay as a second language. -
ngbrdad:
I guess parents are required to be at the school for the first day. Subsequently no need right ?
Parents should be at school on registration day but there's no need for them to be in school on the first day. Unless there's a special programme requiring parent presence like CCA Orientation day or something. -
Dear experienced members and parents,
What are the chances for a girl with 260 applying for RGS? -

I doubt anyone here has the magic ball to advise u. It really depends on who is ahead of u in the queue and u will never know until u join the Q.Dear experienced members and parents,
What are the chances for a girl with 260 applying for RGS?
-
dearmummy:
I think your chances are fair. I wouldn't stick my neck out to say she would definitely get in because last year's COP was 260 and she's right at the borderline. I expect COPs for the top schools to remain about the same this year as last year. Anyway if you put RGS as first choice and she doesn't get in, she'll definitely get into her second choice, provided it's not NYGH.Dear experienced members and parents,
What are the chances for a girl with 260 applying for RGS?
