My son reads very well but he's not applying them in his composition in his Tony Buzan class, according to the teacher there...so I have to start working on this aspect. I am not sure if I want to put him in a general English Programme or pure Creative Writing class. I asked him and he chose the 1st option as he said that he wanted variety and not just writing...
      :?:
Hi, can share what he learns in Tony buzan's class? Mind mapping for creative writing?
Is it difficult to apply if he's not applying them?

Tony Buzan's Mindmapping - at the end of the day, having compared with several other centres, they seem to be using similar formats of 5Ws, 1H & Results/Conclusions/etc. The format does help him to craft out a story. However it's the application of vocab that he knows that matters here...which he is not doing...

ICL website - thanks! Already went to the website. Wonder if there's anyone who can give first-hand account of the syllabus and how it's different from other centres?

          Hi AgnesMM

Which ICL centre is your child in? I am considering the one in Laguna Park…I have sort of left my name with the teacher for next year’s P2 class. She has yet to get back to me on the vacancy.

How did you decide on ICL? So far I only have feedback from 1 friend and no one else.

Hi, my girl is not with ICL. She is with BC Tampines.

              Hi

Need feedback which of the following English centres are good for primary level:

              1) Kent Ridge Tutor
              2) Just Education
              3) Mindstretcher

My daughter is going P2 next year, and I find that she does not grasped the grammar rules well (like when to use past tense, present tense, singular and plural verbs etc).

                Giving some feedback on Mindstretcher:

My child is currently attending Eng class (P3) at Mindstretcher. The standard of materials given are high, esp the creating writing. I sometimes have problem understanding the compre exercises. If my child can write and understd the worksheets given, i shd think he can score an A* for PSLE.

However, i feel that for language, more emphasis shd be placed on spoken and presentation skills, so that it helps them prepare not just for sch or psle, but for life.

I think this is a waste of money. I spent $4000+ on one of my kid when he was young. Now also speak very very good Singlish. 😞

Great to hear some good comment about mindstrecher. The adv seems very convincing too, which branch is your kids at? I am thinking of sigining up my daughter at the yew tee branch.

Anybody has any comment on Lewin or The Writer’s Place at woodland?
