2010 PSLE Science
-
I think I did not do well in my Science examination or perhaps all my examinations. I am feeling very dejected and heartbroken as I do not think I stand a chance in getting to my dream secondary school. I cry secretly to myself at night. I will just hope for the best and wait till the 25th of November with my fingers crossed. Any comforting words to console me? Your words would make me feel much much better. By the way, thank you to the person who help me answer the questions I asked in the previous post. I got some questions wrong. So sad.

Welcome to the gang!
There are many of our DD & DS who are in the same league as yours....PSLE is nothing compared to the greater hurdles you need to jump across...wait till U face them....then maybe U might be one of us who wd be advicing your juniors regarding how to face EXAMS & various other hurdles in life :snuggles: !
Instead of thinking & wasting time over the past, learn from past mistakes ...how to avoid repeating the same 'ol mistakes in future or rather avoiding them in the first place!!!
:celebrate:

It comes not back again.
Wisely improve the present.
It is thine.
Go forth to meet the shadowy future, without fear\"

Have you heard of \"All roads lead to Rome\"? In life, there are many different paths and as long as you persevere, you will reach your destination.I think I did not do well in my Science examination or perhaps all my examinations. I will not try to console you by saying maybe you do better than what you perceive etc. - all these are immaterial now as PSLE is over and whatever will be will be (and really maybe you not that bad compared with cohort - who knows?). What is impt is for you to realise that other than PSLE, there are many other routes for you to choose. Maybe you cannot go to your dream secondary school after PSLE, but you may have a chance later (through transfer or good results apply for IP prog etc) as long as you continue to work hard and believe in yourself.
Cheer up! PSLE is only 1 exam and a small part of your life - not all of your life. You will realise that by the time you are working, no one is going to care about your PSLE results, which primary or secondary schools you are from, what is your \"O\" Level grades, \"A\" Level grades, etc. Life is full of challenges, this is one of them and you will emerge a stronger and better person facing up to this.
Take Care and do not cry anymore. -

Mass = how much space a certain object occupies. Isn't that vol.?
Matter does not necessarily occupy space. A black hole has a huge mass cramped into an infinitesimally small point. What we know is that matter is gravitionally attracted to other matter, giving it the impression of \"weight\", which is really the force that pulls matter together. -

O, oh!
I think my earlier answer is wrong. The towel and newspaper is to be used as filter. The answer may be in this link :atutor2001:

but to filter thru towel means lot of water needs to be collected. say 200 ml atleast. Other wise the towel would soak up most of the water.
newspaper if used as filter may just tear.
hmm...[/quote]Yes, we would need subsequent amount of water to filter and there should be water in a jungle because there are trees - implying there is water.
Normal science assessment books always give example of how to collect water in a desert, so we mistaken that this question is based on scenario of \"no water\".
Based on what I gathered from the posting, the question did not state that there is no water, rather there is a need to \"produce\" DRINKABLE water.
The plastic sheet can be folded to form the \"funnel\", the towel can be used to be the coarse filter medium and newspaper acting as the filter paper we use to line the funnel in the lab. -

It is NOT a decomposer. It is a helper of decomposer.
A decomposer breaks down dead organism to SIMPLE substances.
A helper of decomposer breaks down dead organism into SMALLER pieces. -
