Apologies, I mean 3, 4 syllable words should be taught earliest at pri 2 or 3 onwards.


Am thankful for this thread and others related to P1 registration. Was clueless about all these until I chanced upon Kiasu Parents…wonderful to know many parents share similar concerns and share their experiences so I don’t get overly anxious.

Is there any mummy / daddy here who can share on Kinderland’s curriculum? I am intending to enrol DD into a ccc when she’s about 20mth. I have gone down to the one of their centres in the CBD area but they were not willing to share the curriculum, only refered me to the timetable and their themes. I was pretty taken aback. How am I going to make an informed decision without knowing what my child will be learning year to year?
In comparison, another CCC that I visited but not so marketed and branded, they were very open about their curriculum and was willing to share their curriculum from playgroup up to K2.
I have my likes and dislikes about both centres but will like to make a better decision if I am more informed about Kinderland’s curriculum.

Really appreciate any info and advise.

Hi! I just spent some time reading all 23 pages of this thread. Tks to everyone who contributed… I learnt alot! I’m looking to place my 2 year old in a childcare facility/preschool and I think I am in a better place now to start thinking thru my criteria for an ideal place!


But seriously, "omnivores"? Er, I don’t think I learnt to spell that word till primary school? Feel so stressed for my girl.

hi all, I’m searching and reading alot for the past 3 years to gather infor on good education for my kids.

even thou my elder son is 3yo, i find that e best education for our kids is not what we can find outside but inside , ie at home how we educate them, play with them and their moral upbringing…
well I’ve been doing that with my sons.
My elder son attend a CC well it’s normal curriculum not so stressful but teacher turn over rate is low almost 0. my son enjoy goin there, with his familiar teachers and friends. so my advise (for yr consideration) is to find happiness for our kids not stress. if u put yrself in their shoes we would prefer our parents to give us that kind of environment also. : )

Hi all, just like to check at what age should Preschool start teaching phonics? I went to visit a church kindergarten yesterday, was surprise to know that for PN level, it will just be letter recognition. Basics phonics will only start at N level, then advance phonics on k level.


Isn’t it a little slow to teach phonics at 4? Or am i just being a little too KS?
