      Hi mummies,

Most of u have attended the briefing in Nov and waiting for orientation in Dec.
Appreciate u can share this with me, as the syllabus there are not available in MMK website.

      For Pre-N and N,
Can anyone tell me what is the phonics system that MMK used? and Han yu pinyin?
Do they engage other vendor for Gym?

      Cheers

        Hi Mrs SingRat,

I remembered at the briefing the teacher specifically said they don't use any specific phonics system but they do teach sounds of the alphabet so that the kids will be able to read.

As for gym, they use Bear-gym to conduct gym classes at MMK.

        Cheers,
        :celebrate:

hi to MMK / KS parents out there,

Can anyone advise me whether it is safe for my DS who will only be 2 and a half year old to take school bus when school starts next year.

Initially, DH & I were quite firm no school bus for DS first until he turns 3 and DH will fetch DS to & fro school. Then DH said something which makes me goes…hmm… He mentioned if his schedule does not allow him to fetch, then DS will miss school…that is not what I want! cause I believe need to have consistency for DS to get used to the school environment.

Hence, now contemplating hard, on one hand, rationally thinking, I want my boy to take school bus, emotionally, I am worried about DS taking school bus, wondering and worried whether it is safe as DS can’t talk much yet, will the school bus uncle or auntie take care of him well. (heart feels bad have to let him take school bus at such a young age, I know I am being emotional here but can’t help it)…hence need views from other parents here.

            thanks…

Did u call them to ask if the bus has seat belt? If they have, then it's still ok.

If your boy can sit still in a bus, then should be ok. I also doubt that ds2 can sit still. He is very active, hopefullythey have seat belt on his bus. 🙏

                hi smurf

think the school bus should have seat belts for all the seats nowadays, guess I will have to check and ask during 29th dec orientation…

your DS2 also going to start right?

                    Hi happy to be mum!
My DS will be going Nursery next year at MMK and DH and I still could not bear the thought of putting him into a schoolbus. Hence I have decided to ask my maid to send him there and fetch him back by taxi each day. This is for at least the first term until he settles in nicely then will consider the schoolbus. After that perhaps I will arrange schoolbus perhaps for only 1 way because the schoolbus operator told me one way journey from my home (AMK) to MMK will take one hour! Gee, it is only about 15 mins max by car if we go ourselves!
Are you in AM or PM? AM should be easier to send & fetch yourself. For me my DS in PM hence the timing is very difficult for us to either send or fetch. Do you have any alternative arrangement if you don't use the schoolbus?
                    :celebrate:

                      Hi happy to be mum,

I think your boy will be more independent after taking the bus. 😉

after struggling for a while, decided to go ahead with school bus though heart felt soo..bad but guess I have to learn how to let go cause that is the best rational choice at the moment..just have to pray DS will be able to cope well 🙏

attended the orientation ytd, he doesn't even look for me! busy exploring, listening to his teacher while she read the story book 😉 hope 1st 3 days will be fine too...

any parents out there taking school bus too?? i checked the bus fare ytd, got a shock though! $100! from my place if i drive only take abt 15 mins the most too! wonder whether the bus driver trying to \"ke tot\" us parents!!
