DSA 2012

I remember the chatter the past two years about whether to let the boys know the DSA results before Oral or to keep it from them so it won't affect their mood during Oral. I think it's true that parents are the more kancheong ones.

ya, i'm one of the kancheong parents.
when my DS received his grouping for HCI interview, I kept asking him abt his frens' grouping cos I am interested to know how HCI group the students for interview. But then hor, he says : ai yah, don't keep asking me lah.. my frens only noe they receive the notification, but dunno the group & time.\" To the children, as long as they receive, it's good enug. -
If the CO does come through, will the parents or the school be informed or both? If you have multiple offers, when do you need to make the decision whether to take or reject the offer?

Parents will be informed. You need to exercise your option after the PSLE exams. You can check the exact date from the MOE website. -

school will only know when they compile the PSLE result on result day, unless the kids tell the teacher they got DSA offer.Zekezachzoom:

You're welcome. Notification of CO usually comes via snail mail. Get ready for some anxious waiting for your mailman.

beware! last year's DSA has caused some parents to complain that their necks were longer by a few inches while waiting anxiously for the CO / WL / rejection letter -

I told my DH that we have done our parts as parents for our DS (like buying the insurance through DSA) whether he got it or not will leave it to god's hand. We will try very hard not to anticipate too much of it and ask our DS to still work hard for his psle (for his own pride
) In fact I am thinking of whether there is a way to keep the news from him (good or bad) so that he still has his full concentration on preparing his psle.
