urrr... I only have 1. I believe should be ok. I don't think they'll stop you if you bring along another child.yukilei:
Just to share. For those who are going for Hwa Chong's Parent Symposium on 20th Oct, Sat, I've confirmed with HCI that the kid can tag along.
Can only the kid attend?
We're suppose to RSVP. I replied the email, informing them my DS will be going & HCI replied me, saying ok.
Maybe you can reply their email. -
Nebbermind:
I would think it should be around same as cedar, maybe a bit higher if more of their affiliated students with high t score choose to stay on.
NY1969:
If their express cut off is 249, then for ip it's ard cedar standard. Any points higher will be nygh or RGS Liao.
Blue Dolphin:
Can understand that some will not be convinced. But st nic, Catholic high and SCGS are all powerhouses with strong alumni backing so I have faith in them. But I'm not expecting others to share the same faith. If one is uncomfortable, then there are always other options. Do what is right for uI am not sure.
Cedar IP to VJC
SNGS IP to unknown JC to be built just in time for 2013 batch.
Cedar uses VJC IP programme
SNGS uses ...... (is it the same with the other two schools?) IP programme
There is an element of uncertainty in SNGS IP, which is not helped by opaque disclosure to concerned stakeholders....

My DS is psle this year. In the very beginning, I ,same as those parents here , am thinking of which prestige sch I should apply for, but now after the baptism of the stressful exam, I have another thought to share. I saw my DS go through all the hurdles and come to an end now. I don’t intend to force him to go which sch, what programme that I suppose to be good for him. His ability and capability that can cope with the future studies is my first concern. If he scored an average result, I won’t force him to go such high cop schools that may make him feel inferior and demoralized. And traditional o level programme may be better than 6 year ip programme. At least he can test his ability whether suits for going to jc then a level or polytechnic . He at least got a o level certificate for his future studies or career. I took a level before, it’s not easy I know. If I just based on my preference want him to go ip coz directly 6 programme to a level. It may be a disaster for him.of course being a parent, I would like him to take 6 year a level programme and then go to university. That is a perfect scenario, but would it apply on my DS? Indeed my DS had full confidence before psle as his prelim did very well. However, after the actual battle, he is not as confident as before. Well, as I saw he tried his best , see his real ability after the release of the result and decide the best choice of his sec sch. Good luck for everyone here as well.

Agree with you. IP programme can be v stressful and not suitable for everyone.

I’ve been thru one. Not sure if relevant or not but will just share.
Having walked thru with my boy for Math n Science, I knew he knew alot more than what the PSLE requires. His foundation was good. BUT he just didn’t ‘do well’ for exams!
Main reason being he is RECKLESS!
His impatience often led him to rush thru his work/exams. He failed to notice subtle details (eg, keywords) that is needed to tacke the science questions. When he was younger, he could miss 1 whole page of math qns coz he flipped too fast and didn’t bother to check!!
SO that being said, if he’s not getting a high T-score, it may not be he is average…it could be due to other reasons. We hould help them if we feel they r destined for higher thing! -

Being a parent is not easy now. I m now just assessing my son ability either IB, ip or o level is best for my son. During the honey moon period now, I ask for my son to read through all these programs n decide what he thinks best for himself. I analysize with him that he knows his strengthen is languages, both Chinese and English. Maths and science are comparatively performed average only. He likes to write and do rsearch and so he needs to justify himself and know the requirement of those different programs. Then at the end of the day, according to the psle result, make his non-regretful decision. -
Hi
My friend 's son got a CO from a premier school for IP course through academic but he fell ill since last week . Fever and stomach flu , unable to perform at his best condition . He afraid tht he may only get 230 plus . Although letter stated as long can get in Express but he afraid that school will not accept him or put him in some observation .
Needs your advice on these ! -

Then hopefully when markers are marking, they would take his illness into consideration.
Anyway, if CO already specified Express then it should be as such.
Know of kids who got into premier IP via DSA non CCA and eventually scoring 24x...they are now happily studying in the premier IP.
So ask your son don't worry because the score is something he can't change and after entering IP, just be happy and settle in.
