Sun maid raisins, not Sun Lik....Sun Lik are those BIG raisins maid bought. Sun maid raisins can get from NTUC.
Ok thank you so much ksi. I used Red Man raisins which I bought from Phooh Huat. Maybe I should buy from SL in future?Happy Mama:
Happy mama....your raisin bread looks yummy....nevermind about where the raisins land....as LKVM said before as long as tasty and yummy, everything lands in the stomach in a mess...
Btw, what raisin brand you use? I use the sun-maid raisins. I never take care how I pour in but I pour in within 30 seconds after I hear the beep. However, I do remember a trick my mother used when I was young...I saw her putting some flour on the raisins before putting onto her desired dough.
I did a google, it says putting some flour(some only ok and use bread flour...otherwise may affect the bread)on the raisins, this will prevent the raisins from sinking down to the bottom only, so it can spread itself around the dough.
Hey such a good idea to put some flour on the raisins. Will try next time.
In the meantime, I am :xedfingers: :xedfingers: because I encountered some problems when I tried baking this morning. Z machine seems to have died on me. No sound for the past 2.5 hours! :stupid: -
Happy Mama:
Oh goody!! :dancing:
Good news!! It has started to bake at 45 minutes! A little strange today coz the last round I recall it was slightly more than 1 hour. Don't know if bread will be fully baked by then... but who cares! It is baking now! Happy happy! :dancing: :dancing: -
Great that your machine is baking, happy mama. You too gan chiong.

Machine now left with 7 minutes, but bread is not fully baked. What should I do? -
Happy Mama:
7mins can still bake it.jtoh:

After baking, don't take out immediately from the pan if you want a crusty skin.
Also, in the manual, the very first page of each recipe, there is a timeline chart. This is to help you determine which stage the breadmaker is in and not cause panic. -

LKVM:
Thank goodness it is working now :celebrate:
oh no... is the machine still not working?Happy Mama:
BUT... this morning around 7.30 am I baked another loaf. I was so sleepy I put in all ingredients without checking my blade until when I put in raisins then I realised there was something wrong with blade. My maid just put in blade without securing it! :!: So I manually adjusted it and it started kneading for a few minutes.
Now my whole machine seems to have gone dead for the past 1 hr 45 mins. No sound, no thermostat sound etc. :stupid: :stupid: -

She is the one and only here, that's why!

Oh ok. But the manual says active dry yeast should be placed in fridge. Active dry yeast is instant right?
Hi,peterch:
Just read my Z manual. It says yeast should be kept in the freezer or fridge. I will test out my yeast again and let you know the outcome.
Wish me luck!
If u r using instant yeast, u do not need to put in freezer or fridge. Unless it is fresh yeast. If u bought the instant yeast for quite sometime or its near to expired date, please add about 10-20% of recipe quote.
Active dry yeast is different from instant yeast. FYI, most bakeries use instant yeast nowadays as it is simpler and more stable to use.
