Maid when you do extra proofing do you hide the dough in some cloth or just keep it in open?
I would proof at 40 Deg in the oven. -
:imanisland: everyone ....
Been unadventurous lately and sticking to my wholemeal bread recipe.
For those who are interested, I have found a 'satisfactory' combination of 1/2 cup bread flour and 1/2 cup wholemeal flour and bake it under \"Soft\" function. The end result is much fluffier compared to \"Regular\" function.

Wow schweppes, I love your colours... au natural yet so attractive... lovely! :celebrate: :celebrate:Okie... finally some time to post my story on my (mis)adventure and attempt at making swirly coloured bread.
Just this past Mon, decided to bake and experiment on swirly bread after work. As wanted to try out my version on natural food coloring, I pounded separately half a punnet of blueberries and 1 mandarin orange (yes... yes.. complete with peeling irriting membranes out...)
After separately pounding them, I sieved them into 2 ramekins, one blueish-red and the other orange.

Is it special setting in oven to do that or just lower the temperature? sorry for asking all stupid questions

No, not stupid question. All these tips I learnt from books, Internet articles etc.
Think most ovens should be a lowest temp setting, right? Mine happen to be at 40 Deg. -

Schweppes,To celebrate reunion dinner with family, I experimented and made Strawberry and Lavendar Cake for dessert. :politebleah:
I followed the butter recipe. At add ingredients stage, I added in strawberry jam and lavendar flowers (I buy lavendar flowers to make lavendar tea for my family). I find the cake colour a little too brown for my liking but I think it's because of the vanilla essence that I added.

Everyone loved it and happy to say that my mommy and daddy were quite impressed with me
What an interesting combi!!! What made you come up with this??
Love the test and smell of lavender
Your pix of the cake looks very very    -

Hey schweppes, how interesting to try strawberry and lavender cake! I love anything lavender. How do you get the lavender flavour? How did you manage to squeeze out lavender from the flower itself? By the way, where can we get lavender flowers? Thanks! To celebrate reunion dinner with family, I experimented and made Strawberry and Lavendar Cake for dessert. :politebleah:

:thankyou: maid must die die ask hubby to repair the oven

Oh dear, what happened to the oven?
Yes, I prefer to bake my breads in the oven as opposed to the breadmachine. More varieties to play around, but of course more time consuming too.

Happy Mama,
