Ok, pictures of my first loaf of 500gm white bread with raisins. We did not waited for 30 mins before cutting.... so not sure about some aspects...

http://i44.tinypic.com/idghnt.jpg\"> - a bit damp with more potential to rise and can be darker

For our next loaf, we need to do the following:

      1. Add a bit more yeast to rise more...
      2. Add more milk in order to make the \"skin\" darker...
      3. Add a bit more raisins

      Any more suggestions?

Next load will target for 750gm. Most importantly, children were v excited and waited to eat more :celebrate: :celebrate:

      Welcome to the club hmsg...
      the loaf looks good
Maybe you can leave the loaf for 10 mins after the whole process is done before taking out? that will make the loaf little more darker...

Thanks, guess we were to anxious to get it out as this was our first time πŸ™‚

Now for another 3 hours wait πŸ™‚

Here it is for the white raisin bread 500g (750g) in the following order
                  - Water 120ml (150)
                  - Skim milk 125ml (150)
                  - Vegetable oil 1 tbsp (1.5)
                  - White bread flour 350gm (450)
                  - Salt 1 tsp (1.5)
                  - Sugar 2 tsp (1 tbsp)
                  - Dried yeast 1 tsp (1.5)

Add raisins after 2nd kneading cycle.

                  Have fun!

Am trying the rapid bake now (1 hour)...

it is due to the amount of raisins added.
For variety, u can try with mixed fruits as well.

                        hmsg,

thanks for the recipe. Need to clarify with u on the amount of sugar use for 750g bread size..shouldn't it be more for a bigger bread?

By the way, hmsg's sugar for the bigger loaf is 1 tablespoon while the smaller one is 2 teaspoon. 2 teaspoon should be less than 1 tablespoon. I used to mix them up becos the short form quite close leh. πŸ˜‰
