Do you know where I can buy that Panasonic bread maker? Is it available in SG already?I wonder if anyone uses panasonic breadmaker? A friend of mine in the UK swears by it, and she said she's tried other breadmaker... but suffice to say that after her husband took the first bite from the first bread from panasonic, his comments were \"it was worth the extra 50 pounds!! (they paid for it).
Oh... can someone share with me a sweet bun recipe? -

I have this recipe originally from my old z machine but I've modified it alittle and it works with all breadmachine. Put the ingredients according to the sequence of your machine.I wonder if anyone uses panasonic breadmaker? This is a sweet bun recipe for dough setting only.
300ml water or UHT milk (always use UHT, if using fresh milk, pls heat up first then cool to use)
4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
50g butter, unsalted (if salted, pls omit salt)
3 1/2 cups Bread flour
3 tbsp non fat milk powder (eg. anlene or equivalent, omit if using liquid milk)
1 tsp yeast
Remove from pan, round, rest 10mins, divide, round, rest 10 mins and shape. Let it prove for another 1hr or when dough becomes 2x it's size. Bake in oven 200 C for 12 mins. -
But mostly mixer that is good is Bosch and Kenwood is that right? Also if the watt is high enough, it should be abe to handle bread dough, but not sure how true.
Cos I didn’t want to get a mixer as well as a bread maker! Thought of combining the 2 function into one.

Mom22: Urm… I’m a novice, but from my previous research and reading, these are the combination of equipment you would need for breadmaking:
Option 1: ONLY breadmaker - it mixes, kneads, bakes. It’s a real gem because all you need to do is measure and put in all the ingrediants, and then select the function required - e.g. Whitebread. The next time you will see it is when everything is done! Loaf breads, jams, cakes, etc - depending on model.
Option 2: Breadmaker + Oven - so you get to do all of the above, plus shaping your dough into whatever shape/size you like.
Option 3: Mixer (to mix the dough, plus some hand kneading may be required) + Oven for the baking.
I am part lazy and part very lucky (to have inherited an old breadmaker)… so mostly been making loaf bread. Does this answer your question? -
Dear OrangeBelt,
Thank you for your detailed info, will consider again base on yr options.
But my concern is ‘$$’ cos buying a breadmaker + mixer will defintely be out of my budget …

Hi everyone,
OG is having a sale now and the Kukeri breadmaker is going for $69 only. 50 sets per store. I was told this is a Taiwan brand. Not sure how good it is as I am using a Z machine. You may wish to check it out if you are considering buying a breadmaker.

I agree with your friend. I’ve brought my panasonic breadmaker over from Australia. All my friends think the bread is great. I just don’t understand why they don’t sell it locally. Don’t waste your money on cheap breadmakers, they usually make dense bread. I had 2 breadmakers and gave up making bread altogether until I tried my friend’s panasonic bread…
