My son entered P1 this year too. He sleeps at 930pm and wakes up at 545am. He needs a 3 hour (3 to 6pm) nap too. Not much time left after he wakes up at 6pm to do HW. Worse on days when he has tuition and enrichments. 😞

Cant imagine as days go by when he has more HW from school...

My girl is in pm session. Sleeps around 11pm but I am urging her to be in bed by 10.30pm. She wakes up 8.30am and we leave home around 9.30am-10am to her nanny’s place…

She normally does her school homework at night after dinner and bath… and will do my assigned work after that. But I realized she is much more alert and focused in the morning.

She didn’t cope well at all in the beginning. Cried and cried and even had nightmare the 1st night of school… even when i visited her during recess, she also couldn’t stop crying for me.

        This week she’s slightly better…

primary school is a BIG change for our kids, a lot different from the kindergarten or child care that they are used to.

Bigger compound, bigger buildings, more people, more rooms, need to be more independent etc etc

just reassure them, and they will adapt very fast.

you might want to consider cutting short the nap time to 15min (power nap) or none at all. Compensate by sleeping earlier in the evening.

Waaa.... same with mine.. Difficult to wake him up to go to school, and also difficult to make him do his homework.. :?

Mon-Wed will dismiss at 130pm...complains hungry after school, so must have lunch first...so bathing delayed. Makes her take nap at 3pm but only does so at 330pm. Will try to wake her up at 5 with little success. Dinner at 7 followed by quick shower at 8pm...2-3 pages of Eng or Math.
Most 'productive' between 8-9pm bcos son also doing his assessment/HW.

Sleeps at 11pm, wakes up at 6am.

Fortunately she has no problems waking up at 6.

All your kids’ schedules make me think my dd is getting too little sleep. She wakes up at 6:15 am, no nap during the day (after school) and goes to bed at 9:30pm. But if I put her to bed earlier than that, I will not get any time at all with her in the evenings (am a working mum).
