For the certificate, we waited 6 months. I even thought it was lost in the mails and checked with the teacher twice… but I read online that you can see the result online, after 6 weeks or so, some took 3 months. So it could depend largely on the dance academy you are with, and maybe only the teacher can see the results that’s online.

What do you think of extra ballet lessons at young age (5-10yo), my child is interested in taking the extra class but it will make it 3 ballet classes per week, including the coaching class. I do not wish for my child to be a professional ballerina but want to support her, even if it’s just a hobby for her.

My concern is, is 3 ballet classes per week doable in primary school years? Does primary school gives a lot of homeworks and other activities?

My child is taking Jazz class, but the school is very pushy on them taking the pre-modern exam. We have been "warned" that if we never take exam, then might need to be retained in the same level.

Isn’t exam and coaching classes an optional thingy?

How should children who are learning simply to develop an interest handle such schools? Any tips?

Hi has anyone or any of your friends/relatives ever send their children to learning Ballet in StepUp at Safra Punggol before? How’s their instructors like?

I am intending to send my child to try their ballet lessons. Pls share any reviews. Thank you!
Saw some good reviews about StepUp here - https://www.sgatlas.com/best-ballet-schools-and-classes-in-singapore/

                  Hope this helps.

Hello, would like to ask more experienced parents, after ballet exam, are all that passed got medal? Or just like successful or outstanding ones? I saw in the RAD site got medal and cert but not sure if it is a standard practice.

                      Hi!

My 5 yo has been learning ballet at her current studio for two terms, and has recently been invited to audition for the elite ballet class — auditions were held a few months ago and we didn’t sign up. (We are thinking perhaps someone has withdrawn and a slot has opened up or something, but no matter.)

What I’m really asking is, is it easy to pass the audition for an elite class? If it’s just an extra class that most if not all students can sign up for eventually, we would hesitate to do it as we would prefer to let her have time to play on her own. If she has been spotted because she has a flair for the sport, then we will support her progress.

                        Hello

My daughter started ballet at 3yo at YDA in Ghim Moh. She then started at NAFA at 5yo and has been there for 3 years but I feel they’ve totally taken the joy out of ballet. I’m considering switching her to a different school, perhaps SBA? Wondering if any parents feel the same way about NAFA or if anyone has made the switch.

For context, she goes to SAS the American school so for her, the traditional Chinese style way of learning / teaching, which I believe they do at NAFA, doesn’t really work
