Saw some good reviews about StepUp here - https://www.sgatlas.com/best-ballet-schools-and-classes-in-singapore/
Hi has anyone or any of your friends/relatives ever send their children to learning Ballet in StepUp at Safra Punggol before? How’s their instructors like?
I am intending to send my child to try their ballet lessons. Pls share any reviews. Thank you!
Hope this helps. -
Hello, would like to ask more experienced parents, after ballet exam, are all that passed got medal? Or just like successful or outstanding ones? I saw in the RAD site got medal and cert but not sure if it is a standard practice.

Hi!
My 5 yo has been learning ballet at her current studio for two terms, and has recently been invited to audition for the elite ballet class — auditions were held a few months ago and we didn’t sign up. (We are thinking perhaps someone has withdrawn and a slot has opened up or something, but no matter.)
What I’m really asking is, is it easy to pass the audition for an elite class? If it’s just an extra class that most if not all students can sign up for eventually, we would hesitate to do it as we would prefer to let her have time to play on her own. If she has been spotted because she has a flair for the sport, then we will support her progress. -
Hello
My daughter started ballet at 3yo at YDA in Ghim Moh. She then started at NAFA at 5yo and has been there for 3 years but I feel they’ve totally taken the joy out of ballet. I’m considering switching her to a different school, perhaps SBA? Wondering if any parents feel the same way about NAFA or if anyone has made the switch.
For context, she goes to SAS the American school so for her, the traditional Chinese style way of learning / teaching, which I believe they do at NAFA, doesn’t really work -
Totally understand how you feel! My kid used to study music in NAFA but we made the switch and is currently learning in another school. I admire SYT's principal & instructors a lot and must say that the school provides a fantastic training ground that's hard to replicate. The robust curriculum translates to result and the kids will learn a lot. However, it is not for everyone as every child has different personalities, characters and learning styles.
When mine was there, I could see it slowly took the joy out of learning music though he never once complained. After the switch, I notice he begins to form relationship with music as suppose to just learning to play the instrument. He now takes ownership for his chosen and assigned repertoires, makes friends with other students and enjoys performing with them. So totally no regret in making the switch. I'm not familiar with NAFA's ballet curriculum so can't give advice with regards to making switch to SBA. But since you asked abt parents' general feel, thought I could share a bit of our experience, certainly hope it helps in your decision making.Manganese\" post_id=\"2125391\" time=\"1703249916\" user_id=\"183920:

Hi,
My dad will be taking part in the competition and we need to buy competition tutu. Can anyone advise where do you all usually go to buy the costumes? Thank you. -

Can I check what’s the age requirements of RAD exam? The website states age at 31 Dec in the year you are taking the exam?

Hi can I check if most of the kids did well in 2024 ballet exams? Meaning mostly distinction and above for grades primary to grade 5 levels? I think the examiner is Ms Vivienne? Just curious about the standard of the school my kids are attending.

@bertrand-011930xl hello! There’s a dance studio called ‘Glissade’ at Bukit Merah central. It is very accessible as it is near the bus interchange, and also very affordable, and its prices are below market rate. The teacher is very amicable and approachable. This studio would be good especially if you are just starting out at ballet, but it has many students taking the advanced classes too. Even though the FB page may be quite old the studio is very well maintained. The teacher is also very experienced. Hope this helps?
