        Hi

Anyone has gal attending any ballet school or can recommend good ballet centre in sengkang, hougang or kovan area? thks
        hi!

A good ballet teacher is more important 🙂 My girl is taking lessons from Ms Jenny Chin. She's teaching in Sengkang and Toa Payoh CC. I'm sure there are other good schools or teachers but if you're looking for one in Sengkang, I highly recommend Ms Chin.

          Hi Shinystar,

My girls like Ms Woo 😄 If I'm not mistaken, Sengkang CC has 2 ballet teachers - Ms Woo and Ms Chin. You might want to call up the CC and see if you might have a chat with the teachers before you decide.

For Ms Woo's class, parents are not allowed to sit in and watch. Once a year, there would be an open house whereby parents are invited to watch their girls dance. This was the arrangement that my girls' previous ballet school had as well. Perhaps that's common practice?

                hi shinystar

my gal is taking classes in both sengkang and toa payoh west cc under ms chin. Grade 2 in Sk and grade 4 in tp.
Yes exams are usually ard April. They are in e final prep for exams now so I believe they will only take in new students in apr. You may want to call the cc and check with them which teacher's timing is suitable for your gal or whether both ms chin and ms woo will be taking in pre primary gals for the next intake.

                  Hi Pixie28

How long they take to finish one level to proceed to another level?? For pre-primary ballet, the gals also need to go for exam too or only take exam when they r in higher grade level?the students will undertake examination from which recognised dance examination? thks

Usually it takes one year to finish one level, until they reach higher levels like grade 6. Some teachers do allow them to finish in one year too, but others would recommend doing it over 2 years before taking exams.

Exams are not compulsory, at least not for the graded syllabus. You can skip say pre primary exam and still do primary exam the next year, or grade 3 exams n years later. I never did the lower level exams because my mum said she didn’t want to take the fun out of dancing by having unnecessary stress for exams.
