Marymount Convent ^ ^

bekithia/cherrygal,
Someone told me CHIJ Chestnut has high chance of getting in. But I do not want daughter to go to IJ St Theresa (sec). Nothing against the school, but since I went to IJ TP, I want her to go there too. -

Marymount Convent ^ ^
Looks like we will meet during orientation.
I was also choosing between CHIJ OLGC and Marymount Convent. In the end, we also chose Marymount Convent. -
Eerr there is one thing im unsure of…pls enlighten me…
Lets say we are within 1km frm Sch B but because we were lil too late in applying,we applied at Sch C whc is outside 2km frm whr we live.
We shld be getting in Sch C because there are no balloting done at the sch.
Do u think I can still withdraw frm Sch C and enrol DS in Sch B during Phase 2C supp? What are my chances like?
Reason to pull out
1)altho its still within the neighbourhood,i still think its a bit too far for DS.
2)It was kind of last minute decision to enrol him at Sch C when we called Sch B to find out its full.(We were late for Sch B coz prior to Sch B, we applied at another Sch A whc is a popular sch and didnt get thru coz Sch A intake was overwhelming, were advised to withdraw coz we are within 1-2km) They do ballot within 1km.
So having 50/50 feeling for Sch C…not sure if its a good sch for DS.
Pls advise…TIA -

If Sch A is full...
and Sch B is full... (means no place for Phase2C supp as well)
U only left with Sch C... make the best out of it bah

Hi Shimmers
Since sch B is full, it will not have any balance vacancy for phase 2c supplementary. Thus you will not be able to apply there under 2c.
And kindly do not spam the same post over multiple threads. I have deleted all you other duplicated posts.

I am deciding between Townsville and Marymount Convent becos I would prefer a coed school. My girl is confirmed a place in MCS but am contemplating to withdraw. Found out that Townsville is not too bad a neighbourhood school. Any advise?

Hi Callie,
My DH also preferred a coed sch. But in the end, we still went ahead with Marymount Convent.
I went to a few sch (coed and single gender) for interviews for PV and found that boys will be boys. They are generally more mischievious (I also have a boy,
) So was worried my DD will be bullied and get distracted (my DD can also be quite mischievious at times, who knows, she may join the boys, haha...).
Saw that at Primary level, the girls at girls' sch are very well behaved. Hope this kind of environment can rub in on my DD.
Anyway, both sch are not bad in terms of CCA. Happy choosing.

Went to kuochuan in bishan for registration initially and was quite excited with the environment and ambience... very lively and full of energy. Subsequently went to marymount convent and it was so dead and quiet.... holistic lor... but preferred the kuochuan's environment cos i feel that it should be that way for kids...
How abt results and academic standard? Can any parents enlighten me on both schoo;s' standard?
