after thinking through with a bit more detail on the balance beam question, I find my argument flawed. While air is found both inside and outside the balloons, the density of air is different. Air is more dense in the blown balloon. So there is a difference between the matter inside and outside the balloon.

There is another way to look at this:
for divers, they are used to carrying tanks of compressed air. They will tell you that a tank full of compressed air weighs heavier than an empty tank.

However, I’m not sure if the slight difference in air pressure between the 2 balloons is sufficient to overcome the rotational resistance of the beam balance.

        Hi everyone

I desperately need help in searching for good & reliable PSLE Science assessment books for my DS next year 2012.

        Also:

Any tips for scoring PSLE Science paper?

        Hi mama diva,
Honestly, I'm :imdrowning: too...don't know what to expect next year either. Other than info/advice from parents of kids this year in KSP, I don't have any idea.

I'm presently using this P5/6 Teachers' Circle as revision. What I like is the explanation given for each MCQ as well as the breakdown of marks for answers in open-ended section. The other assessment I'm using is the MCQ published by Just Education (Jesslyn Poh).
A friend of mine recommended this title.

          HI G Tan,

Following your kind advice, I’ve put that title aside. Thank goodness I didn’t buy it…courtesy of my friend whose son completed all the MCQs. Her son is a genius…he scored A* for Science with no tuition or enrichment centre.

But books with mistakes may or may not due to the author; may be caused by the editors, typesetters or illustrators. may be shd advise the publishers to call back the books.

              Dear parents

I am looking for good Science guidebooks (not assessment books) for myself to read up so as to prepare myself to teach my DS when he is P3 next yr.
Totally lost touch of Science and the topics they are covering right now.
Recently been spending time at Popular looking at the Science guidebooks and find that Science Booster Notes for lower primary by CASCO seems like a good book to start with to familiarize myself with the syllabus....
Experienced mummies - care to share your views? 🕺
              Or any other recommendations?..

              Thanks in advance!!!!!!! :rahrah:

Science Booster by Casco is a little difficult in my opinion.
I prefer either Ultimate Science (EPH) or 'Primary 3/4 Science Partner: A Complete Guide To Lower Block Science 3/4' by Angeline Tan.
Science at P3/4 is under 'lower block' which comprises of 5 topics:
Diversity, Systems, Cycles, Interactions and Energy.

                  Hi,
Read the textbooks to find out what covers in each topic and then read Lower Block Frequently Asked Questions by Janet Sim EPH to find out the questions that may be tested.

                      Hi iLoveChubby,

I used to check out latest assessment books a great deal when hubby worked from home...but not so frequent now. Really scared of buying books now.
Not a master of assessment books lah...just an abnormal interest in them. :rotflmao:
