Buy EPH Ultimate Science Guide Book. All my students doing PSLE have at least the EPH Ultimate Science and plus EPH's Sec 1 and Sec 2 science guides for reference because many science experiments can be explained or found in the EPH's Sec 1 and Sec 2 guides, in fact my student's parent was shocked that the question from Maha Bodhi's P5 SA2 on why a thick glass mug will crack when hot water is poured into it and not a thin glass mug, that the exact answer/explanation is in EPH's sec 2 science guide word for word.tiredmama:
Dear parents.. any suggestions / recommendations on what series of science guide books to buy ? I was @ Popular and am overwhelmed by the large range... thinking of doing some HW myself before I really make any purchases..
Thanks for all the tips in advance ... :celebrate: appreciated -
Agree there are lots of guide books. Usually I get more than 1. And I choose those with concept maps. I get I-Science Text in addition to sch My Pals are Here Text.
EPH
I know they have with CD. I think it cost $99. I didn’t get it but I like it. It should be like LEAD (sch e-learning portal).
I also get Everything about Science. This is all experiments type of questions. -
thanks caroline.
I got many guide but really dont know how to use them.Care to share?I just want to zero down the main concept.caroline3sg:

At first, I find My Pals are Here Text very shallow. Then I realise I-Science is another text used for GEP. So I bought I-Science Text. A bit better than My Pals are Here (though My Pals are Here assessment books are better).
These texts are easy to read and very colourful. I asked my girl to read on her own. But when comes to P6, I highlighted in red those important points.
As for Everthing about Science, I walk through with her the experiments. In sch they did some experiments but I don’t really know what.
For guidebooks, they are my bible. At first I would read through first. Digest it. Then I would ask her to draw mind maps, concept maps. After that I explained to her why this why that. Then she has to remember the points and memorise if necessary.
I have about 3 assessment books. These books also have write ups on the topic. I walked through the write up and asked her do the MCQ. As for OE questions, she can copy answer if she doesn’t know. But I would make her memorise after explaining.
Teacher’s Production Science worksheets are very good too.
When revising for PSLE (many things to refresh and topics interlink), we just take out the mind maps / concept maps to revise. Those need to memorise I also mark it so that we can flip to the pages. -

Mine was under old syllabus. If I am not wrong, it is by Helen Lee.
I remember seeing upper block & lower block as well as Ultimate PSLE Science Guide. But these are wrapped so I can’t see what’s inside. You can ask Popular to open up and you choose according to your preference.
I might get the EPH with CD one if there is promotion. This is the one lower & upper block. Coz my son (now P2) likes to learn from computer. His school is not subscribing to LEAD. Though I know I can subscribe personally, I like to have hard copy of CD itself. -
One of my favourite assessment book is by Renee Chong (Science Companion). I realise it has guide book from EPH website.
Another good one is Marshall Cavendish (orange colour, got eagle picture on its cover), it is like 10 yr series, where past yr’s PSLE questions are there. -
The one with CD is Science Alilve!. I just check it on Popular website. 1 CD is $11 or so. Last yr at Suntec fair was packaged together at $99.
I would go get it since got the 20% voucher. -
