After 23 years with the incumbent? No lah...should have more loyalty and class than that. Agree it is the right decision to leave politics. I foresee in no time he would get quite a few offers from the private sector or statutory boards for jobs that he can choose. No looking back! :salute:
he can always join WP or NSP ....  :evil:Strparent:
He couldn't make headways when he was in the circle for 23 years.....So the best option, is to retire from politics. best wishes to GY... -
Just two days after the opposition Workers’ Party claimed victory in Aljunied GRC at the general election, reports are surfacing all over the internet that the town council seems to have suspended its services.
It has also been rumoured that certain town council contracts have been terminated, and that Residents’ Committee (RC) signboards have been taken down in certain areas of the GRC.
The Aljunied GRC website has also been taken offline.
it is precisely this sort of treatment which helped Potong Pasir and Hougang become strongholds of the opposition.
petty, petty petty. Sore losers are never liked and actions like these will only anger the residents, both those who voted and did not voted for them. I wonder who does their PR for them..
If they had handover professionally and even offer to assist, and let the winner use their premises, it should actually remind the residents of a good party which they just lost. small things like these are remembered for a long time.
I guess the 5day humbleness is over......
I guess Operation Repentance was activated 0000 hrs 9th May 2011. :gloomy: :gloomy: -

I think these two will be the next target. WP spreading over the North/East. Don't envy those GRCs around that area at all! Tough fight and I don't think they like it. Next round I foresee these old ministers would be changed too...although 5 years later is a long time more. By then my boy would be 9 years old! :love:i think GY is the best candidate to go against WP A team
if it is MBT or WKS think they will lost even more -
From TOC Facebook page:
It seems riot police are dispersing the crowd in Potong Pasir and have confiscated the petition. tOC will investigate and bring you the updates.

Petition for by-election at Potong Pasir. According to a volunteer on the ground, the police says the gathering in the public place is an illegal activity. More updates.
Heard from a TOC reader: Police are attempting to stop the petition signing in Potong Pasir, and confiscate the signatures.
:stupid:  -

Eric Tan, leader of WP East Coast said he has received the offer of 1 NCMP seat for a member of the team. He said he will leave it to the WP to decide whether to accept and if yes, who. But he added it will likely to be him
no Glenda, no Gerald
Give to Nicole better..

I think there won’t be much change in the next 5 years. Firstly, there were no followup apology from the ministers. Secondly, many telltale signs of "non repentance" from what the ministers said after election. MBT said "I have a strong mandate from the people" (57%?). Vivian said what? "We need communication with citizen but fundamental direction is not wrong". (That means business as usual?). The same old familiar habit of arrogance returns…

No lah. GY is catholic, JN attends City Harvest.

SDP happy to work with all opposition parties
With reference to newspaper reports about Mr Tan Jee Say approaching the NSP for a possible merger of both parties, the Singapore Democrats wish to clarify that Mr Tan bumped into Mr Goh Meng Seng and during a casual chat there was mention that opposition should show closer cooperation. This is what the SDP has been advocating all along. We are happy to work with all opposition parties to achieve our objective of strengthening the opposition in Singapore.
The state media should not resort to sensationalism and exaggeration.
