Why ?? yr interest is aroused ??

haha....of course u dun need wheelchair or walking sticks to move in and out of the immigration dept.
malaysian govt is not that silly to implement a policy which requires that......... 😉

It is under the “Malaysia My Second Home” MM2H program.

      It is pretty straightforward....
One can apply under the 10 yrs Visit Pass and u need not to give up yr own citizenship.
You are not required to have compulsory investments or purchase of a hse.
You can migrate to Malaysia with your spouse and children who are below 21 years old (unmarried).
A sum of few thousand dollars (the other time I was told ard S$3,000 )
is required for the initial lawyer fees and agent fees who process yr application.
Some info extracted fro u from the net.

********Malaysia My Second Home program, is open to all foreign citizens wishing to retire or reside in Malaysia on a long term basis.

It is fully endorsed by the Government of Malaysia and your immediate family (spouse and children) can also participate in the program.
Here are some of the key benefits of the program:
•\tYou will get a 10-year Visit Pass and Multiple-Entry Visa (renewable every ten years) which will eventually give you a lifetime easy access to the country (perpetual visa).
•\tYou can import your car or purchase a new car, tax-free and enjoy other tax incentives.
•\tYou can invest and own businesses in Malaysia.
This is like owning a second passport, or a second citizenship in Malaysia.
•\tYou can enjoy a luxury lifestyle at a fraction of the costs.
It is the cheapest and very affordable place to retire early.

      Is this the page:

      :?
Open a fixed deposit account of RM150,000.00

if anyone places self interest ahead of national interest, then he or she doen't not deserved to be in the parliament.

Pardon me, if you really believe this of politicians , then it is because you live in Singapore.

An example. Mr Chiam See Tong :salute:

            So much $$

maintaining a FD bal of RM 100,000 after 1 yr, is not a big sum of money,
that is equivalent to S$ of less than 50K.
(it is considered as low, compared to some other countries' retirement scheme which requires finiancial investments)

one would def need much more than that sum of money if u are talking abt retirement, esp in Singapore.

if u are really interested, email or call the licensed agents there,
they'll advise u of how to go abt it.

I remember reading one in the ST forum page asking for representation of their respective nationality in the parliament. Anyway I feel it's a matter of time such requests pop up as more foreigners come here and want their voice to be heard

That is the problem with Singapore. 50plus is not old , he still have more than 15 years to contribute. But in Singapore , when you are above 40 , is considered old, very difficult to find a job liow, considered senior citizen liow (elder shield comes in). The experience gained is not treasured. I don't understand this craze for youth. Lots of experience loss.

I think choosing a younger person in this case is a strategic decision. How many more election can Eric stand in? Maybe 1 more before he decides to retire? On the other hand, Gerald has a couple more given his age. It's also good to expose him for the purpose of the party's succession planning. Potentially he will become the next in line after people like LTK and Sylvia retire? At least now they have young ones like pritam, yaw shin leong, gerald, glenda. I admire CST but looking at his party, it's a very good learning model of how succession planning went wrong and affect the party's survival. I hope WP will not be like that.

I don't recall hearing both of them speak or it didn't register as I was more interested in the hot ones. But I also heard comments that Gerald Giam is not bad so age aside, maybe from a competency point of view, Gerald is better???? I can't tell.

But I still feel that WP made the right choice. It's unfortunate that Eric feels strong about it and resign. But I still feel that it's more of a face issue.

I agree with this ie. on the succession planning bit. It is a strategic decision and WP has shown us so far that they (or LTK) is a good strategist! ET although he said he will let WP decide but then now wants to quit.

Just take NSP for eg. if they are offerred an NMP seat, do you think one of the leaders will take up or they will let Nicole Seah take it up? What if popular choice is NS, so those leaders got to quit? BTW, read that there would be leadership renewal for this party. The one leading now going back to HK to join his family since he did not win an MP seat. I am wondering where is the Commitment, Strong Leadership and Strategy for this party?

As for Mr Chiam's party. Yes, successor is his WIFE. For goodness sake! So will the next successor be his daughter?? Sorry, can't see any succession planning here. He has done a lot for PP but sorry, if you ask me, can see it coming that his party would lost this round to PAP.

For some reason, I do not like to see husband and wife team. Like mama and papa shop. There was this party with both husband and wife contesting in the same GRC right?

Back to WP, so NOT EASY at all when you see the \"dis-organization\" of the other opposition parties and the post-election effect and what they intended to do. Therefore I tend to think WP is stronger in strategising and succession planning.

For PAP, they said now MP only serve 2 terms ie. 10 years. I also don't understand why if they are good can't serve more? Why? Seems a bit too young to retire some of them. Their \"succession\" planning is a bit odd!
