Depend on the school. Some schools do not have PVs, (either the schools do not open the PV application or not many parents apply) so the parents in the PSG will help out with school activities.

For my school, I think the PSG organise development programs for students, like camping. Also on special school events, the parents will help out, like school anniversary, etc. My school also has a Father's program, can't remember the full name. It's to encourage father to be more involve in their kids lives in school.
