Frontier Primary

Hi all,
Nice to be part of this somewhat 'privileged’group… it may not be that stressful eventually for most Frontier-hopefuls, I guess, since there were 235 places and most of the successful ones would have their child’s name announced by 4pm…
I was quite stressed out when there were less than 20 vacancies at 4pm and my child’s name was still not called… imagine a chance of 0.84 (eighty-four percent) reduced to 0.3 (thirty percent chance)… I was breaking out in cold sweat… until… YES! I jumped in joy… when my boy’s name is finally called… nonetheless, I should not be complaining as there were at least 42 other children whose parents were left disappointed… ok, enough of the balloting… since we’re already in…
I have 3 kids, DS (2005), DD1 (2007) and DD2 (2009) and we’re glad to be pioneers of Frontier in Pioneer, of course. Nice meeting all.
We look forward to the P1 Orientation on 17 December. See you all then… -
Hi frontierer!
You a night owl too huh? Your 3 kids have a nice 2 yr age gap! I have 3 kids too, but weird spacing in between them.
Glad for you and congrats! Yes it was definitely tense towards the end. I was there with friends who had theirs called towards the end too.
Yup, looking forward to Dec! -

It's really nice to have someone respond promptly to my very first post in KSP... even more glad to meet another SAHM (correct?) with 3 young kids...
Nice 2-year gap... Hmmmm... they're a handful, really.... you should have guessed...
Anyway, great to have you here. See you in December!! Cheers! :celebrate: -

I am surprised that the new school is filled up b4 existing schools. Forgive my ignorance, why do folks select a new school over existing ones ? Wat are the factors you considered before applying.......... :?

ok, for me, very straightforward and easy. i will share my own reasons. can't speak for others.
For us, primary school means the child is young. Hence
1st factor: distance and convenience
2nd: must be single session due to our kids being morning people. they all rise early and are lethargic by afternoon.
3rd: school programmes and CCAs
4th: school leaders and staff
5th: facilities
The P and VP of FPS are strong pull factors. The VP is very prompt in replying emails and queries. She replied me personally each time. The P gave a good first impression at the soft launch. Of course, these are PR skills and may not reflect on how the school will be like in future.
But I believe that if the leaders care about the parents' concerns and take efforts to welcome the parents and make them feel involved, it is a good start.
Yup... hope you find a great school for your kids too. I have been very satisfied and happy with our choices so far.

Good for you!
Mine was called early too! But I was there to listen for a friend so I stayed on. Friend could not take leave. Her dd wasn't called but she'll be on wait list. See how.
Now I am hoping the school uniform will be nice! (vain lah, want to take many photos and hope he looks good).
