Hi frontier parents, how's everyone's first day? My dd enjoyed d games 😄 she's so excited abt Sch tt she slept only ard midnite ytd.

Oh, my dh went to pick dd and saw the pricing of food at d canteen. Almost all items are at least $1. Like chicken rice, noodles.. All start at $1. Is this a norm? He felt tt it's too expensive. Any comments on this?

        hi paix2u,

hmm, nothing less than $1? does sound a little on the high side. i still hear of 80cents noodles so I thought of giving ds only $1 per day.

he does like the packed lunches so far this week though. he says he cleans up everything in it. 🙂

he's also been telling me about the songs they are singing/ acting out for this Friday. looking forward to it!

My child brought back the handbook with class timetable attached. Time to start communicating with the FT... 🙂

            Hi

Mine brought back too! Need to return everyday?? :?

I agree that the price of the food is steep....cheapest is Mee Siam, $0.90 :yikes:

Looks like have to give about $1.50 per day :scratchhead:

It says on my child's FT letter to parent, that daily items include:

              1. Frontier Handbook 2012 - to indicate homework, reminders and communication between parent & teacher

              2. Homework File - for homework and letters (A4-sized pockt file)

              3. Storybook

Anyway, the General Office number is 65789555.

Just wondering if this price a norm in primary schools? Maybe Kabby can share since her ds1 in another school... :scratchhead:

Definitely an inflation from \"our times\"

my friends' kids from elite school still has 70 cents and 80 cents pasta and noodles to buy....

my older son's school has 80 cents noodles too.

but they are very basic bowls of noodles. small bowl with just 2 fishballs some fish paste. i don't see a lot of veggies
my ds1 likes to buy mee soto cos it's not spicy but the chicken soup is fragrant. so that's 80 cents. however, as he is growing, he is now buying the $1 bowl - more noodles, more chicken meat.

however chicken rice costs $1.50 in his school.

i'll tell ds2 to buy noodles instead of chicken rice then! 😆

thanks frontierer for the info on general office and FT letter.

troubled, you can use the handbook as a communication book with the FT too. so that has to be in the bag everyday. the kids use it to note down their HW and anything they need to bring as well.

the name tags are not done yet, is it? just checking… when are we supposed to get them?

Come to think of it, the letter might be a customised one by individual FT. Hence, your child's FT might adopt a different mode to communicate the same.
