A lot of \"cow\" parents \"cow pei cow bu\" on the yr 2009 papers especially math paper. I think yr2009 still hold the record for one of the most difficult math paper.
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I agree that 2009 holds the record for one of themost difficult math paper. The rest of the papers weren't a walk in the park either.

Dun worry, I trust MOE has nothing against Dragons so will not purposely make it hard for dragon-year kids by setting harder than usual papers.
That was why I kept telling myself in yr2009 (DD psle) tt MOE has nothing against \"cows\" when most of the papers were difficult tt yr. -
Is your son's Math good? If it is, then he might do alright if he acquaints himself with some MO questions now. To use Math for DSA you would need to do very well. Even an SMOPS Platinum doesn't guarantee you a DSA offer. Is your son planning to apply for DSA under Math domain? Be warned that he'll face tough competition especially as he's never done any Math Olympiads before.chubbydd:
Hi, my dd is also going to be in pri6 next year. As it is the dragon year, I think that maybe the psle will be harder than usual. Is this a disadvantage or an advantage?
Also, I have learnt that the smops will give you an advantage in the dsa. But my dd havent started learning maths olympiad yet. we made a it point to start to learn maths olympiad during the december hols using purely maths olympiad books from the popular bookstore. Is it too late to start?

Anyone can share what academic enrichment classes or tuition your kids are attending to prepare for PSLE?
-
Would like to know if there are parents out there who are against purchasing secondary school materials for their primary school child. Please PM me if you are one.

You can find all the parents here with 2012 PSLE kids:

My son is still attending the same enrichment lessons/tuition for next year. Maths tuition lessons will be doubled and will ask CL tutor if she can come twice nearer Oral & Compo. No notice of EL enrichment ctre having more lessons...might or may not have. -
My oldest daughter just finished psle this year, whew. But I expect that next year will be even worse because I’ve got twin sons doing psle next year. They aren’t as serious in studies as my daughter, sigh. Older twin is v good in Math, he got top of his class for math this year sa1, but his Chinese is very bad, he nearly failed his sa1 Chinese (got about 50 marks) so sad, so sad, and so now he goes for chinese tuition with a private tutor. Younger twin is generally ok in his studies, but he’s very mischievous and playful and also doesn’t read books much. He didn’t study much for his sa1, and he’s also very prone to careless mistakes in exams etc. so he didn’t do well for his sa1 and he got quite low for all his subjects and only barely passed science which is his worst subject, but he got quite high for English, his best subject. I am sending him for science tuition too.

Hi parents,
In a matter of 2 months, I will be actively surfing this thread.
Meantime, it’s still the last lap of revision until last paper next Tue (science).
Breathe for 1-2 weeks before planning for next year.
Wonder if sec schools will increase classes to cater to the increase of Dragon kids. My son’s school added 1 additional class during P1 registration. The other thing is whether the COP will be higher as compared to other years. -

I think MOE will manage the population of schools so that there's enough vacancies for all the Dragon kids. Question though is whether there'll be additional classes in the popular schools. If not, COP for these schools will go up, assuming there are no freak PSLE results that year.Hi parents,
