It's really a cooling-off period now. All the ground work has already been laid. Now is to stay upbeat and walk bravely into the exam hall. Do not mention PSLE to them. Our kids do not need to hear that anymore. That is ONE MAIN REASON why I am keeping my son at home.At this point of time, whatever to revise and learn should be completed. What matters is for our DCs to stay upbeat, confident, healthy and most importantly HAPPY. I think we parents should not over emphasize on PSLE as our stress will add on to the kids without our knowing. They may not say it but there are tell-tale signs if you observe your DCs carefully.
Personally, I can't wait to get this PSLE thingy over soonest possible. I tell my DS that if he uses his 平常心 to sit for his PSLE and sticks to his goals, he will do fine. All the best to the DCs for their first major exam of their lives! -

While it is really more nerve-whacking, I too have always asked my kids to go for each exam/competition/DSA etc with 平常心. Try their best at each moment & dun regret. :rahrah:
Good luck to all PSLE students.

Hi superworried mum,Essential:
You can purchase a clear pencil case ... Exam pencil case
Oh what is Exam pencil case? Do DC need that? DS did not mention anything at all!! He is still using friction pen though I told him not to.....Afraid he might not get use to other pen or his work might be messy.....
U can get the exam pencil case from popular, basically just a clear case with zip. ZipLock will do too. It's not a must, but good to have.
What is friction pen? Is it those erasable pen? If it is, you may want to double check with ds's teacher if it is allowed. As far as I know, it is not allowed as it is as good as pencil...not sure though. -

I always tell my son to do his best so that he will not have any regrets...do not have any, 'if only I...\" Once he has put in all his best, be positive and look forward regardless of the results.Agree.

Yes, right now, what our DCs need is to be as steady as rocks. No use being anxious and getting jittery.
Agree.mommylow:

I agree that we need not mention the word PSLE to our DCs anymore. They understand it better than us now as they too feel the heat in school with all the classmates, teachers and principal talking about it.

What's crucial right now is to speak words of encouragement to build and empower them. The key is to keep BELIEVING in our DCs, have faith in them that they will do their best and can achieve.
\"As your faith is strengthened, you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit.\" -- Emmanuel Teney.
Best wishes to your DS for his PSLE.

How aptly put....Focus on what he CAN do and not what he CAN'T do. I like that.
:goodpost: Right now... I dun wanna focus on what he CAN'T do. Just focus on what he CAN do. Whatever will be will be... and unlike some, I DON'T have a DSA offer waiting as a safety net.mommylow:

As parents, we are the main driving force for our children. At this point they need a lot of kind words of encouragement from us. Let us all parents hold up a positive mirror for our DCs and show them what they already are or have the potential to become. Keep encouraging them, believe in them, hope and endure all things because we love our children.

I think it's better not to use friction pen, as answers might rub off or become illegible. I'm getting dd to use just good old fashion ball point pen, as less likelihood of smudging as well.Essential:

My only worry right now is that dd uses a tremendous amount of correction tape in her daily work. Been trying to \"train\" her to cut down on the correction tape, but bad habits die hard... -
The start of another day is here! Meaning 1 day less to PSLE and my child still making careless mistakes! What should I do?
