My DS said paper 2 was generally easy and compre was ok, it was about burglary. But sad thing is he spelt 'filial' as 'feeler' and 'sufficient' as ' suffisent'

I spelt sumptuous as sumptious

:goodpost:Hi PSLE parents,
Some words of advice as you wait for your DC to return based on my experience. Of course it depends on the child’s personality but some common things pointers.
Let the Child tell talk to you about the paper, don’t probe too much.
Try not to analyse the written paper for more than 15 mins ( Goldilock time). Just enough to give a boost to the confidence levels but not too much to lead to over confidence. One exam over means it is over. Analysing it too much will distract the child.
Remember YOU have to be the control here. While you are dying to know, what he did and how , there is no true value in that. And berating him for not doing the correct stuff is counter-productive at this point. So please be aware of not just what you say but also of your body language.
Most kids will do their own analysis, especially with their friends. And will spend some time trying to find out the “right” answers - be there to firmly turn them away from what is over to focus on what is next. Learning to “Let go” is an important lesson to learn too.
Loosely based on chen’s book(I am still reading and absorbing )- First be mentally prepared, you have to be the emotional “sink” for your child if things have not gone too well. And you are the well he is going to draw strength from to go to the battle tomorrow. So be ready for him/her.
So get ready to welcome home your warriors. Yours is not to fight the war, but to cherish the warriors no matter what.

PS- edited to correct a typo -
Just enough to give a boost to the confidence ( not boot :faint: ) -
ASLMUM:
My DD wrote about the party and how they decided to draw on the wall to celebrate dad's birthday, in the end get a scolding instead...think is it ok?
Hi ASLMUM, I think it's great that your DD did not just write about partying and instead, added a problem to the storyline. Definitely makes the compo less boring.
Based on her plot, if she had developed it well and had used appropriate vocab with hardly any grammatical errors, she can score well in this component.
So, no worries, ok? :hugs:
Time to concentrate on the other papers instead.
Cheers! -
Hi
I would say that all the questions from the comprehension OE can be found in the passage.None of the questions were inferential except for the last quesstion, which was a bit of thinking question. -

Now I faint.... :faint:
I am a P6 student who had just finished the PSLE 2012 EL paper. \"The huge sum of money\" is deemed singular as \"the\" indicates. \"Money\", being an uncountable noun, is also singular. The money had been donated by Singaporeans BEFORE the money was sent, so the answer should be in the pluperfect form (had been donated). \"Was being donated\" is in the past continuous tense, showing that the donations by Singaporeans were subsequently going on with the sending of money. Ergo, my answer was \"had been donated\".
the words in red (sent to the flood victims) considered addn info, need not consider.verykiasumummy:
qns 12:
The report said that the huge sum of money sent to the flood victims _______ mostly by Singaporeans? (the qns is something along this line)
1) had been donated
2)were being donated
3)have been donated
4)was being donated
so : The report said that the huge sum of money was being donated mostly by Singaporeans.
not : The report said that the huge sum of money had been donated mostly by Singaporeans.
if u want to use \"had been\", then the sentence should be :
The report said that the huge sum of money that had been donated was mostly by Singaporeans.
hope this helps. -
Thanks MummySTay. Yup, we are not looking back. Must Chiong for Maths tomorrow. Good luck to your DC as well.
