I agree with others.. do revision with your dd this holiday.. for math, needs alot of practise and help her understand the concept and application. To be frank, their math questions are so tough that i also can't answer!! LOL! So I have also started 'studying' again.. I boutgh the OnSponge maths book.. I will read to understand and hope to do revision with my girls.. Agree to have tuition at least twice a week if you do not have much time to coach..

I believe your encourgement & support will certainly help your dd šŸ˜„

Certainly understand your stress cos dd is also taking PSLE next year.. and i'm glad to have blessings from my boss that I can switch to part time work next year!! :rahrah:

Don't give up!! All the best to our kids for 2012 PSLE! šŸ˜‰
It's intensive studying for kids (and parents) going to P6 next year....no joking matter. It's also the time to have to cut down on my expenses (not that I spend a lot)...bcos more intensive tuition needed. My hubby wishes he can take no pay leave to spend time coaching son, but we don't have that much savings to do so. His friend did just that...think he quit his job to be full time coach for son, then started to look for job after PSLE. Super amazing :salute:

            Hi Essential,

The marks in report book are depressing...So i'm too glad to have to return it b4 holiday begins. Told my boy his no-work week is over...it's back to serious work. Next year this time, He can play to his heart's content after PSLE...provided he has done his best. Have bought those assessment books to focus on those weak areas. Now have to plan when to 'cut ribbon' to have official opening

Hi, my DS has a friend whose father did not work to look after her only daughter while the mother become the breadwinner. The daughter as far as I know did not have any tuition this year but has only English enrichment since kindergarten till p2. The daughter got first in the whole school in p2 and also in the first three position in p3 in the best class this year. So I believe that if you stay at home to coach her yourself starting now will mean a lot to her.

As PSLE result is very important in deciding which secondary school she will be landed in. So I'll definitely advise you to give up your job for at least a year. Of course, it also depends on your financial situation. As I know that the living costs are getting higher and higher. Sometimes, as parents, we need to sacrifice. Its only once in a life time that our child go through PSLE when they're 12 years old.
I believe there is still hope if you start doing something now. But don't panic and instead focus on planning a study schedule with your daughter and start implementing it.
All the best! Fighting, see so many ksparents are supporting you here!!! :rahrah:

On our end we're doing a 2 Week Chinese Boot Camp. DS has to process 4 China Compos everyday + 2 Compre Passages + 1 Chapter Ting Xie. Hopefully, this'll give him a booster shot in Chinese for next year. :xedfingers:

He's usually done by 3-4pm, and then he likes to read short stories on the internet because he wanna try writing a short story. I rented Kung Fu Panda today but he refused to watch!! I had to MAKE him because I didn't wanna waste $5/=.
                  Hi there!!,
                  kung fu panda? in Chinese?
I'm letting my Ds watch movies in chinese...he said its super weird hearing \"Shrek\" speaking mandarin!!!!

I wish!! My DS refuses to watch English movies in Chinese. He says it's unnatural. And since this is part of his playtime, I don't insist lor...

hi there, my son did not do well in his P5, the grade for math drop by at least 20marks and when i go through his test paper, i noticed it was mostly careless mistake. I only give him 1 week rest after the SA2 and started slowly revising for P6. i intend to complete all the P6 topics based on the assessment book and then will do all the past year paper. Anybody got better advise for me. This is the first time i am coaching him so my way of doing may not be good.

                        hi concernmum,
i think its great that you are going thru the p5 stuff first before moving on to p6 stuff...i did just that too, revised the weaker topics and then did the p5 top school's final year exam papers....it seems to work for my DS....hope it's working for your boy too :rahrah: :rahrah:
we mummies need cheering too ya!!(i do anyway šŸ˜‰ )
