      Mum of 3:
My DD says she doesn't know how to do part (b) of the coin question in Paper 2. Does anyone know what the question is and how many marks?

I think it is 4 marks if not wrong. I done it by Guess and Check. I got 117 for 50 cent coins.Bcos the boy has $133.90-$26(mother gave) -> $107.90

      (117X0.5)+(247X0.2) -> $107.90
      117+247 you get 364 coins(182X2)
because there are 182 days and 2 coins everyday

        GLORYmum:

if most students dont find the math paper difficult and have scored high then one or two marks becomes very crucial !

As such, there may be fewer people getting A* if they moderate from 91 to 95??

        Goodness.

Let's see how it will be for Maths and CL.

So far, English is ok, Maths is easy, Science is easy?, CL even easier??

Wow ! maybe MOE wants to encourage us to believe that PSLE Is do-able !!

        🀷

Glorymum, do you know how does this moderation work? If it's just simply moving A* around (ie btw 87 to 95) , there will be no change in mark. In this case, T score will remain the same right?? :?

Or is moderation means changing the mark that a child score? For eg, if the child score 93 for Math. But Math was moderate downwards, then 93 became 90. Then the child will get A instead of A*???

If moderation is changing of mark, then if it's moderating upwards, then the child who score 100 will be \"lugi\"??? cos cannot add anymore marks??? but those 98 became 100??? :scratchhead:

To me, A or A* is not impt. It's the marks that count. Some children can have 2A* 2A but still lower than those with 4As.

        hi yukilei,
Will get you the details of how moderation is conducted when i succeed in landing a job in MOE - have been trying to since they announced the \"attractive\" pay increase. :rotflmao: .
my take on moderation was simply hypothetical.
anyone has more info on how moderation is conducted in the past? please share.
        87 for A* ? i thought need to be 91 and up?

Hi I'm a student just took PSLE today.Iam getting :scared: ...I didn't get 28 for the men women question and 1700 for 18b!

              Hi Glissie,

I would advise you not to look at this website until PSLE is over. Don't let it affect your next 2 or 3 papers. You can't change the answers for Maths and English paper cos they were over and handed in already.

You still have Science and Chinese next week which need your full focus. Don't let the discussion here affect you.

All the best to you ! :hugs:

              ok! Thanks for \\ advice!

I just wonder why we should justify the paper easy or difficult by only such discussion. The one who sat in the exam should know the best. And each individual had their point of view on the paper. Being a parent, we just listened to what their kids mentioned about the question. Indeed they had their own perspective and understanding on the questions already, as an outsider of us who is not the actual exam-taker cannot be sure what their understanding or the interpretation of the questions is correct or not. Actually now, encouragement and hardworking for the coming papers should all dc should do now. No matter, you β€˜think’ you did well or bad last two papers. Nothing can be changed now.
