This December holiday is the best time for p5 students to do revision and strengthen their basics, specifically for science and Maths. Languages are hard to improve leaps and bounds in a short period, but Maths and science are subjects which can be improved with more practices and clearer understanding.

I am trying to make my nephew do a bit of revision everyday cos his foundation is weak. Unfortunately, we don’t stay close enough and I can’t monitor him daily. For a start, he is taking out all his unfinished p5 assessment books to complete.

My teacher took about half a year to finish the syllabus.

DS teacher told him that when school reopen, he will use 1 month to finished all the P6 syllabus. After that will be revisions.

Wow! Teacher super fast to cover P6 syllabus in 1 month. That's good. Got more time to revise.

Too fast also no good for the kids. There are still some relatively new and difficult topics for math and sci. I think more reasonable to use 2 terms to do it. Most schools start revision after June hols. Some will advise p6 parents that the school wil conduct lesson on 1st and /or 2nd week of June hols and ask parents not to go for holidays during those days.

Lolz. Good luck to all P6 next year!! However, it will be harder as it is the dragon year, and that means more competitive.
Next year this time, He can play to his heart's content after PSLE...provided he has done his best. Have bought those assessment books to focus on those weak areas. Now have to plan when to 'cut ribbon' to have official opening

I'm in the same shoes. Those grades were depressing for us but I'm not sure how my DS feels about it. Still playing everyday.......... today just bought 2 assessement books for him and he's already looking so bored at the sight of them. I wonder when we can \"cut the ribbon\"!

Grades were depressing...but no point crying over them...just have to move on. I was looking high and low for this thread...wondering where it has gone to....with release of PSLE results and Sec school posting, this has gone to Page 2.

My son is like yours...doesn't seem to feel anything about the results ...playing and playing everyday :stupid: when he has to do corrections, he can still get them wrong :slapshead: have talked to him nicely and also scolded. NO EFFECT...somehow I wonder when he will wake up.
My DD will be taking her psle next year, she is relaxing n enjoying her holidays. She only spend an hour or so to do some her work which i have assigned her everyday. Will chiong fm mid december when back from our holiday trip 😂

                        Hi ladies,

I am getting my son to revise his P3-5 Science, working on English this Dec...dare not go on to P6 Science yet :nailbite: for Eng, we are trying to improve comprehension cloze, synthesis and vocab. No school yet I find myself busier 😓

Can share with me how do work on comprehension and close passage? This is the weakest part for my son.

Gotta practise. I bought an assessment on Grammar/Vocab/Comprehension cloze...son is very weak in comprehension cloze and it's really tough to improve there...that section is 15 marks...in fact, every mark in every section is very crucial.
