I thought we can collect the certs from 6th Dec onwards??
was informed by the P on 22/11 to collect certs from 10th-19th. -
OK just to check in case I’ve read the info wrongly since I’ve been so "clouded" lately.
Cut off date and time for school selection is 28 November 3PM. Correct?? -
In DD’s school, told to collect PSLE cert from 8 Dec onwards.
If I have not misheard, we’ll only need to bring results slip, school report book and EZ link card to report at new school. -
My collection for cert is 6 December onwards.

Sad person, I also have the same query as you. I think if 1-3 points, should be ok bah, I could be wrong.
My dd is short of 2 pts from this school s cop, I called the sch admin this morn to ask about appeal. She told me, \"don\"t put our school as your first 2 choices, and we always have 100 over appeals\", in my heart, I was thinking, wah, the way she talks v very yah yah leh. This school is the high 22x school
I'm still headache which school to finalize and the sequence to put
I've just pm you. -
MeKiasuLeh:
Thanks for your thoughts, MeKiasuLeh
My take on the 3rd Lang offer is to give it a miss. It is always difficult to learn a new language at age 12 years old onward, especially if there is no one in the family conversing in that language, and no exposure to mainstream media and TV in that language. This is particularly true for French and Japanese.julialai:
My DS said,\"If I don't try, how do I know if I enjoy it or can do well in it?\" Oh well, we shall let him try..
To me, trying to be proficient in the main languages (i.e. English and MT) is already challenging enough at secondary level onwards, not to mention being competent in additional subjects such as LA, Hist, Geog, and so on.
Good luck to your DS though.
We let him choose a third language which will be taught in his school, so he needn't spend time travelling to language centre elsewhere after school. Will monitor his workload and see how he copes.. -
Mama Mania:
Mama Mania: Appreciate your kind advice!
Yes, by all means, let him try. Year 1 is still manageable. You may also like to check if third lang in his school counts towards his overall marks because if it is, he has to be serious about it as like all other subjects, you have to do online assignments and if you do not submit on time, no grades be given and there are tests in between and if these add to the overall Sec 1 marks, it does have an impact.julialai:

I am talking in terms of French as third lang and if he is just trying, I suggest you refrain from buying the Dictionary first otherwise it sure is a waste of $. An indication of their continued interest can be seen by Term 2.
He already submitted his language choices last night and managed to convince his best friend to do it with him. -
By the way, if DS is not able to report to school personally, can either parent report on his behalf?
Thanks! -
fifiyeo:
I guess should be alright as one of my friends will be overseas at that time. She was asked to inform the school (after knowing which school, of course) by telephone call or email.By the way, if DS is not able to report to school personally, can either parent report on his behalf?
Thanks!
