Neighbour Stories

Actually smoking still not so bad, can just close the window….the one which is more annoying is all the loud noises from upstairs, especially since it always coincides with the kids nap time, and my kids are light sleepers, so always wake up a few times during their naptimes. I am quite particular about their naptimes, and have approached the upstairs neighbor 2 times, but each time they only say it’s the vacumming sound….but we also hear sounds like dragging furniture across the floor, then bang down with a loud sound etc….actually I never tell them it’s the kids sleeping time because I scared all the more they will do to annoy us….even my kids say they want to move house.

I had upstairs neighbours once who always appeared to be dragging furniture around. Why would anyone need to drag furniture around constantly at night? When approached they said they weren’t dragging furniture. -.-

my upstairs nbour will at night throw coins on the floor making those ding ding sound..... dunoe why...
Asking for 4D?
Don't want to buy the proper \"bei\", just use coin lor.. pray already, throw 2 coins.. one head one tail = \"sheng bei\" that kind..? -
For furniture dragging.. sometimes can't be helped lah..
For my case, the chair is made of solid wood, quite heavy. Sometimes during meal time, may need to shift a little.. I hate the sound also.. but quite difficult to lift the whole thing, so can't avoid a bit of dragging. But usually just a few seconds.. and meal time only.
Would seriously consider lighter chairs.. or at least those with smooth surface wouldn't rub the floor one..
hmm.. anyone got good suggestions/recommendations?

I have a grass verge right in front of my block, which is rare in the neighbourhood of about 13-15 blocks. The prob is that many inconsiderate neighbours will bring their dogs to come to this grass verge to do biz. I got real pissed when on occasions the dogs will do so at the void decks even (dunno whether was it raining...).
I stay on the 3rd flr so will use the stairs. There was once some years back there was a pile of dog poo right in front of where the stairs start!!
When I called NEA, they advised me to call them the next time I see anyone pulling a dog that is doing the biz. These NEA officers are totally useless. What do they think can be done when they take at least 15 sec to hear what a caller has to say, when the dogs typically take abt 10 sec from start till end for their biz...
Another neighbour will bring his dog to pee at the lift landing area's side walls without fail. There is now a permanent mark showing the 'stream's path' even after it dries...
And my upstairs incorrigible neighbour said this when dw confronted them for hanging wet laundry to wet our dried ones:
'Even if i don't wet yours, there are other people upstairs who will hang out wet ones to wet mine' :spank: -
I think newspaper ever covered this ‘furniture’ noise before…something to do with water rushing thru concealed steel/copper pipes causing them to rattling inside the concrete.

You can stick a cushioning material to the bottom of the leg so the chair doesn't make a loud sound when it's dragged on the floor. You can buy them from DIY stores. For furniture dragging.. sometimes can't be helped lah..
