let's see if one day your foreign neighbour demand that you NOT eat durians when they are at home
The problem with durians is the smell lingers LONG after the fruit is devoured and the shell discarded. The foreign neighbour will still be complaining when he comes home. Especially if you burp in his face.

If he complains, then I'll try to burp more in his face. :evil:pinky:

I am lucky.
Whenever I smell food, my neighbor will pass some to us. All we need to say is \"wow, the durians smell good!\" and the next minute my doorbell will ring and we get a few durians (whole fruit). When I smell charcoal burning, I know I'll be getting Bak Zhang soon.
See, win-win situation.

Hmm, wonder what I'll be smelling this today.

:rotflmao: I can just imagine u greeting them at the door when they come to complain..... with your durian breath! Sure faint!!
Seriously I think people ought to try to be more gracious and considerate.. then there will be lesser friction... I can just imagine how many pple will complain abt curry-cooking neighbors now that they read this article loh... -
People really shouldn't complain about smell of curry or durian. Just close the window or door, as easy as that. Recently, the pasar malam downstairs has this smelly-doufu stall. The stench was really bad, but once I close the windows, there is no prob any more.

Wah like that ah, then my DS gotta renounce his citizenship liao.May I suggest that all foreigners who want to apply for PR/invited to apply for PR must go through this orientation program:
1. visit Little India-to soak in the smell of different spices and have curry for lunch & dinner for 7 days continously (apply to all PRC applicants)
2. smell and actually taste durians for 7 days continously. Each applicant must finish at least a durian (1 kg) ( apply to all nationalities)
-those who cannot complete the tests will not qualify for PR application
-those who past the test must sign an agreement and sunpa that they will not complain about their neighbours of the smell of curry and durians forever
