      Siti, Rahmesh & Peter had 528 stickers at first. Siti bought another 32 stickers, Ramesh gave 1/5 of his stickers away & Peter was given as many stickers as he had at first by his father. In the end, all three of them had equal number of stickers. Find the number of stickers Siti had at first.

      in the end each have 4u

      at first = 528
      Siti = 4u-32
      R=5u
      P=2u

      4u-32+5u+2u=528
      11u=528+32=560
      u=560/11...cannot get round number leh...

        Hi All,

        Siti had 6 times as many apples as David at first. After Siti had given 450 apples to David, they had an equal number of apples.

        (a) Find the number of apples David had at first.
        (b) David gave away some apples and had half the number of apples Siti had. How many apples did David give away.

        At first
        D=2u
        S=12u

        In the end
        D=7u....receive 5u from Siti
        S=7u....give 5u to David
        5u=450
        u=90
        At first D have 2u = 2 x 90 = 180

        B)from above both have 7u = 7 x 90 = 630
        D gave away half 315

        I catch no ball the first part. Thought David should be X and Siti to be 6X?

            D=x
            S=6x
            Total = 7x

            In the end
            D=3.5x....receive 2.5x from S

            b)from above both have 3.5x = 3.5 x 180 = 630
            D gave half 315

            i use D=2x and S=12x at first to avoid working with decimals...

                    Need help…(beside using guess n check)

                    A group of pupils and their teachers visited the zoo. The school paid $168 for their lunch. Each adult ouch cost $4 while each child inch cost $3.

                    If there were 8 times as many pupils as teachers, how many pupils went on the trip?

                      (8 units x $3) + (1 unit x $4) -> $168
                      24 units + 4 units -> $168
                      1 unit -> $168 / 28 = 6

                      No of pupils (8 units) -> 8 x 6 = 48

                        [Eh in that case how to draw model to explain? The decimal method seem solve by algebra but now primary school do not use algebra. If in PSLE, will they still get full marks?
