Heat is a form of energy while temperature is a measurement of how much heat there is in a substance.

          Jacsplace,

How much did your kid score for mcq?
Hi, just saw your message. I don't remember her score, but she failed the entire CA1 paper.

My dd scored 28.5 out of 50 for CA1. I'd like to help her score at least 10 points more for SA1.

If your dd/ds is doing well in p4 science, can you share how he/she is doing so?

Is it because dw/dh is good in science and thus able to help your kids by explaining the concepts?

Does your dd/ds have tuition? Can you share which tuition centre it is or is it one-to-one home tuition?

What books do you use to supplement the school text/work books?

            Hi,

I find Renee Chong's science companion and Janet sim's three-in-one is good. You can take a look when you go to popular next time. Science practice (forgot the author, I dont have that book) is good too. If I am not wrong, MC publishers. Do you have ultimate science guide book? Although I am not using it frequently, I will use it to check certain things if the answer in the assessment book is wrong.

By the way, my DD is also going to MSLC Science but now the topic they cover is different from the school and she could not cope. In other words we totally ignored the MSLC worksheets for timebeing. Few students in my DD's class scored full marks (including my DD) in CA1. By the way, the topic tested in my DD's school is not taught in MSLC yet. So I believe the tuition is not necessary if you have those assessment books. I have several other assessment books but hardly use them. You can also try nail those MCQs.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's MSLC?

                    Did she well in p3?
                    does she like science?
we did some practicals at home.so he can understand clearlyHe love to do experiments.
i learned from my son's mistakes.and correct him the answering techniques.
check the past papers and figure out what they are expecting from a specific theme.do mcq assessment books then go to OE.
different method works for different kids.

How do you know how to correct his mistakes? My problem is that I'm not good in science myself. We did buy some assessment books and I use them to supplement my dd's school books, but I cannot find all the answers. I try Google too and if that fails, ksp. ksp is great but not ideal because answers won't be immediate of course.

Teacher gave the correct answer. From that i know why he got wrong. Then i will teach the technique that T expected.Still learning.

I am not good at languages but still have to do cos no choice.Key is analyse.
Ksp is a great place to discuss and clear our doubts.I have cleared my doubts when the T didn’t give the answer.

My problem is that the teacher doesn’t give the correct answers, just asks my dd to do the corrections. I gave her the answer to one of her worksheet questions and she got it wrong, and I didn’t know how to correct it.

I have given the feedback to the teacher and she said she will try to help my dd more. But she said she only has four science lessons a week, plus teachers will change according to the topic.
