Good Morning.
You’re welcome.
Quite an interesting one, if I am not wrong there was a question on elephant’s big ears in PSLE 2010 Science paper.
Best wishes -
tianzhu:
Yes, there was such a question and in fact, the Science questions on Adaptation often requires students to infer. So one tip to teach your children is to make educated guesses based on the information given in the question and phrase it with key words that they learnt. E.g. Dogs sticking their tongues out are a behavioural adaptation to help them cool down, while the elephants' ears are a structural adaption to help them cool down.

But the idea is p5 have not learnt adaptations yet.
Here’s another one I got from my student’s homework:
Why do gardeners usually remove most of the leaves of young trees when transplanting then to new locations?
This question cannot be found in any assessment or textbooks. I’m a tutor and the closest I can get to their text is to reduce water loss.
I want to hear if there’s any better answer.
It’s a 1 mark question. -
Is lightning a source of electricity? Thanks.
-
The lightning bolt certainly carries a huge amount of electric charges, but it is rather inefficient to harness electricity from a lightning bolt, especially so when " lightning does not strike twice ( in the same location)". Not knowing when and where lightning would happen makes it untenable for sustainable source of electricity. - personal view, for your reference only.
-
The suggested answer states that Lighting is a source of electricity. Hwever, I have never come across lightning being used as a source of electricity.
