      Hi northernstar,

      Maybe it's out of stock???

Thanks for sharing the link. Some interesting recipes. I am going to try the avocado and kiwi fruit :hugs: and :celebrate:

BTW, if you can't make it to the library, I guess googling is good enough. As for me, I had invested some money into those books. πŸ˜„
yesterday, i've finally found it at bishan ntuc finest and i was happy πŸ˜„

this link which i listened to ur advice and found it at google.com is good too : http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/, although it seems to be for American babies.

You may want to check out this website: http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/

Find it quite useful especially the part on what food to introduce at which stage.

You can add puree in his cereal. Just steam the food and blend it until very smooth before adding onto cereal. I have tried carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, apple, pear… I use the Avent food processor which comes with instructions and just have to use one appliance to steam and blend. Usually I prepare over the weekend and store them in baby cubes (check out babyonline.com).

Since you are concern about his size, perhaps can increase feeding him solids? A friend of mine has successfully beef up her boy by giving him solids (including fruits and veg) 5 times a day. You may also consider giving him porridge at 7 months onwards. My 7.5 month old girl takes cereal for lunch and porridge at dinner. She weighed 8.3kg at 6 months and 8.9kg at 7 months so I am not going to increase her solid intake although she burns a lot of calories with her crawling, crimbing and cruising :0

                hi angelmh,

                welcome here!

now your DS needs more nutrients, as he is turning 6 mths, especially more iron as ur BM is not enough to provide it.

you can refer to the links me and Trina had given here for more baby food recipes.

so you also gave birth to your DS last Sept? πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

                  hihi trina,

is it ok if i introduce him to so many kinds of food in a go? eg, cerals in the noon, fruits in the ceral at night? i'm just worried about allergies.. because now, he only take 1 spoon of ceral as i'm just starting him off with solids.

Yes, you should be mindful of allergies. I suggest that you start off with one type (usually carrot or pumpkin), wait another 2-3 days to monitor for any allergic reactions before moving onto a new food.

You have to be patient when introducing solids to babies cos they need to learn how to swallow the food. Perhaps you can mix one teaspoon of puree with the cereal OR feed it separately. And slowly increase the quantity.I don't like to feed separately cos I am concerned that baby may develop a liking for sweet food.

Wait until he can take a few kinds of food before introducing porridge as you need to put ingredients with the porridge to enhance taste. I usually put one green veg together with carrot/pumpkin/sweet potato. Now trying out chicken and beef. My baby prefers porridge to cereal. perhaps the former is tastier cos I cook it with pork slices or homemade chicken stock.

I find it rather fun and a constant challenge to feed the baby as the needs changes as the baby grows. It helps to check with friends and online website. Sadly I didn't have time to do that with my older one and she is now a picky eater. Hopefully I can get it right this time :xedfingers:
