in this case, which other schools in sengkang can you consider? I think Sengkang has quite a few new schools to choose from…

My cousin lives in Punggol and her daughter studies at MGS and she drives her to school everyday. My another cousin’s daughter takes public bus to school (SCGS) since P3 from Potong Pasir to Bukit Timah all by herself. I guess some parents don’t really mind about the distance (as long as it’s not too far away and the child is not exhausted from travelling). Frankly speaking, if it’s a good school, i also don’t mind…

Hi 2011 Mummies,


I am new here and have just joined as a kiasu mummy.

My son is born in Oct 2011, he’s very active (start to walk ard end 14 mths) and I hardly can use pc now as coming back home is really late every weekdays after a long day at work. My hbd and I are taking care of my boy while my maid doing household chores during weekends, so I hardly have any time for others.

I am living in Sengkang Fernvale and I always put my son and maid at my inlaws house at Hougang.

Anyone here has any idea to enrol your kid in any preschool, childcare or activities ?

I find my son not really learning much when he’s at my in laws house except walking here and there and learning dialect (Hainanese) from his grandparents. He has tried to say those that was taught to him and follow simple instructions tt they said.

My son has a bad temper and insist his wants or he will start to pull my maid’s hair or bending his body till he falls inside the "Playpen" and he plays toys only for a short while and throws them away when he no longer interested in them. We saw him hug other kids (same height as him) when he walks in the shopping mall. Prefer to walk on his own than to b carried.

yes, nowadays kids sleep quite late thus don’t have enough sleep and become cranky early in the morning…same goes to my boy… His kindy is only 3 mins drive from home and sometimes he complains he is tired !!! refuse to sleep early , always want to play and sleep around 11 pm , of course will feel tired …

akaysha, it’s not only terrible 2 but 3, 4 and 5 !! so be well prepared ( i am not scary you , haha)

applemum2011, once kids enrol in pre-school /cc, they will learn very fast…most will become more sociable and talkative…my DD will join her brother in his kindy next year for pre-nursery class. I think most toddlers are pretty stubborn, want their ways , if couldn’t get what they want, will scream…sometimes i find it hard to discipline my 2 kids too…don’t dare to have a third one, haha!

Many of my frens & relatives have quit their jobs after they have their 2nd child.
It’s really difficult to manage with 2 and more kids la and working full time.

Hope my 2nd baby comes along soon so that the age gap is not too wide from my 1st child…at the same time, I am worried that I cannot handle.
