hi joanne_mas, how have you been? didn’t visit this thread for a while… my DD doesn’t really speak chinese but i am trying to teach her some simple basic daily use words …her kor kor speaks chinese with a funny accents according to his chinese teacher but can’t blame him coz he is half chinese (me chinese, hubby spanish) don’t know if they really cannot cope with chinese in pri shcools, can be exempted from chinese or not? of course will let them learn chinese but can cope or not will depend on them…

pinkybear, your dd2 so cute said she is an english 🙂 i think nowadays most kids expose to english more than chinese as in school, the kids will communicate more in english than chinese… have not found a playgroup class for her at the moment but had registered her for N1 class next year) but i am thinking when my DS is in P1 , i will enrol him at Berries

hi sembgal, luckily so far my boy is ok with the transition, has not made any fuss in the morning , sometimes he will take afternoon nap ranging from 1 to 3 hours…so keep my fingers cross !!

my dd just started cc in July but she is still very reserved -she likes to stick to the teachers 😞 and she doesn't like other children to touch her but will greet them like hi.. bye

            anyone with similar situation ?

My girl normally is loud n active at home. But when she started cc she was quiet n reserved in class to the point that it was brought up by her form teachers. But after 2-3mths she was back to her usual loud, active self. She also made friends & came home telling me the names of her best friends.

Think they need to time to adapt to cc life, it helps that you recap with them what they did in school after you pick them up. Also know the names of the classmates & schedule of a typical cc life so it lets them feel that ‘eh… mummy’ also knows whats going on in sch.

Thanks for sharing your experience. hopefully she can relate to me what she has learnt in school as she is now 20mths + but only can speak a few words, and then blah blah blah.... 😞

Hello everyone!! It's nice to see parents of kids from the same age/year. 🙂 My son was born In October 2011. I want to put him in a pre-school, a few hours a day, next year. Does anyone know if PCF is good? Thank you. Cheers.
