[quote=\"alng\"]Hi, I have all the three books but the orange book is collecting dust. I agree that the orange one is the easiest and A* is the toughest. A* can be used by P5 as the kids have already learnt the topics.

Which book to buy is really dependent on the child. If the child is still struggling with basic concepts, then the orange book or even Andrew Er challenging maths is good enough. But if the child is already doing well in maths, then A* will be appropriate for him to practise real difficult qns. Whatever we do, we should not demoralize the child and dampen his confidence and interest for maths. 🙂

      Hi

If you don't mind, could you tell me what is this orange book? I was going thro this thread and looks like I missed it. Thank you in advance.

Oh Ok. Thank you. Any of you use olympiad books for P3? If so, which author or publisher?

Any experience with Focus on mathematics (Longmann)? I browsed thro’ the book at popular last night. Not bad. But I already have andrew Er (work sheet + challenging maths) and fabian Ng. Will it be more challenging than these series? Bit tempted, but never buy.

        Thank you in advance.

            Dear Plum-cake,

I think they still sell it because of kiasu parents like us:) May be they will remove that disclaimer in next reprint.

              Hi mummies,

The orange Challenging Maths by Ammiel Wan is more appropriate for P6…but P5 kids can attempt some by mid-June. Questions don’t according to topics. That’s perhaps one reason why I couldn’t understand what goes on…unit transfer etc etc.

                Champion,

You were searching for "Must Know Maths Problem Sums"?

I checked with EPH becos attracted by the key words "Must Know", was informed that the new revised version with added features will be in store by end Jan 2012 (est), there will be P1-P6.

Hmm. This is good info to know. Anyone tried focus on mathematics by longmann for Maths? Is it good?

                  thank you in advance
