Hello Mummies, what do you think about Casco on Mathematics? Are they generally good? Do they provide detailed step-by-step solutions? Are they challenging?

Yes, Casco Mathematic do provide step-by-step solution.I have try buying that for my dd to try but she told me the question are not challenging.I still felt Andrew's Er one are better, they are more challenging.

If not, you can try onSponge Mathemtic, they do have step-by-step solution too.

Upper primary mathematics (5 & 6) Effective problem-solving methods by GLM is highly recommended for kids to master the difficult problem solving skills and strategies. I bought it directly fr publisher GLM -- get more discount and free delivery.

On sponge is more thematic but GLM Math is more for mastering various skills or strategies that can be applied across themes, although focusing on fraction, ratio n percentage. The book systematically provides similar challenging questions for practices, thus enabling kids to not just learn the skills but also familiar and master the skills. And parents or teachers can ask kids to do only qns that they still not very sure about in the following set(s) of similar qns when running out of time. It is a very good buy for providing a good foundation to tackle challenging qns.

It allows kids to learn that there are qns that appear to be very different but in fact a similar approach can be used to tackle them. And there are qns that appear to be quite similar but different approaches can be used.

Think the on sponge math book is more similar to GLM Extensive Tutorials & Revisions Mathematics -- more thematic and many topics cannt be done by next yr p6 kids during this Dec holidays.

Almost all qns, if not all, in The GLM effective problem solving p5/6 maths book can be done this Dec as long as kids have learnt the basics of frac, ratio and % in p5.
