Maths Assessment Books

Agree Onsponge Maths assessment books are great. But I thought it should be available in schools’ bookshops because that’s where my kids got them. Their school did not go through it with them though.

Same here! My DS's school used the book in their weekly supplementary class but teacher didn't mark his work and answer key at the back was torn away by his teacher, so we couldn't mark ourselves too (very tedious to work out all the answers ourselves!
) Many pages were also left undone. I had to order another one online and DH coached himself by following the detailed answer key.

Oh!
Seems like I may have to get a copy for home use just in case! School book shop stocks not in yet.
Hm, maybe I get a second hand one for home use. … -

Not All schools sell that. -
Is the on sponge assessment book really very good? My daughter doesn’t have much time to do so many assessment books so which 2 assessment books would you recommend?

My boy's teacher may be getting onsponge for them to do in class in p5. Should we get another copy to do at home? Ifnot, can any one recommend a similar type math assessment? Ie notes in front followed by heuristics problem sums. Thanks.
There are problem sum books by Andrew Er and by Terry Chew which are similar. However, for a book using the same types of models as the OnSponge books, I recommend Ammiel Wan's Challenging Maths Problems Made Easy. I had started on the forum a thread asking about this book. Thereafter, I worked through the book to understand the 11 types of problem sums categorized and explained in the book. These are the same 11 types of sums that are taught in the OnSponge books. -

I personally recommend ‘O’ Level E Maths Companion by Casco, by Lee-Ann Goh. The book comes in two volumes la, and each book tackles different topics with notes, examples and practice questions. Each book comes with fully worked-out solutions, so it's easier to go through mistakes.

Is http://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=292&vpd001=87050 you meant? Do you recommend an O Level text for PSLE? -
I personally also use Casco tutor for my kids in sec and pri level.

My dd is weak in her foundation. Which assessments should I get to help her improve?

Which level is she in?
For lower primary, my dh, who coaches dd in Maths, has been very pleased with the Complete Maths Guide from EBP.
