PSLE - New Format for Maths

My girl said paper 1 easy but lost 4 marks. She tallied answers with her friends.
Paper 2 very difficult, left 2 blanks, minus 7 marks. Her friends commented difficult and some leave blanks. The Malay girl who sat next to her kept scratching face, kick the table, drop pen / ruler coz stressed, canโt do. -

Ya, I noticed that ratio & speed qns are usually very challenging.pinky88:
My boy says its the paper 2 problem sums that is difficult. Abt 2-3 qns not certain. He sounds very disappointed.

one geometry question and one ratio question. Maybe the speed question as well. -
SEAB has to do some evaluations then
are our teachers exposed to the type of difficult questions set in PSLE? Having said that, we just to have move on, life is a learning journey

hey im serious the paper very easy
kk maybe somewhat difficult but at least i finished everything and never leave any blank and never guess any -
My DH said she had only 5 mins to check Paper 2. 3 tricky/challenge questions - geometry (ans 150 deg?), last question (ans 68 or 46?) and speed question. She was very disappointed and said 3 of her classmates cried. I told her we recognize her hardwork and effort and that's all that matters to us. It's time to move on and concentrate on Chinese and Science.
She managed to draw the geometry question for me and wrote down from memory the 2 challenging questions. Even her jie jie in sec 2 was stumped by the questions :? -

I totally agree with that!!! Learing is a life journey....My son was very frustrated too. After gone through so many specimens papers and very intense revision by his school teacher, yet he see some total strange questions.....guess is not the teacher's fault, but the MOE for having to set such tough questions. Very often not covered in syllabus....Wonder what's the rational behind..... :? -

Wow, yr girl has got very gd memory. This shows that she is very attentive & concern with her work. My boy ya..everytime I ask him what's the qn, his reply is always \"I forgot\", simply 'bo chap'. Btw, what's the last qn abt?My DH said she had only 5 mins to check Paper 2. 3 tricky/challenge questions - geometry (ans 150 deg?), last question (ans 68 or 48?) and speed question. My son finds the paper tough too. He normally does not have any problem with the challenging papers done at school (fr the other top school prelim papers).
The last few questions were really tough for him & he said he did his best to solve them the way he thought they should be solved. He didnโt have confidence in his solutions to these last few quretions anyway.
I had advised him to move on , and concentrate on the next 2 papers. Dear parents, we all want the best for our children. Letโs continue to encourage them & give them our best support & understanding during this exam period.
I send my best wishes to all P6 students as they sit for the rest of the papers over the next few days.
