      Thanks ksme. I could understand now from ur explanation

      Thanks in advance

      Hi,
      Is this the ribbon question? If yes, here's the solution:

      Vertical sides = 4*22cm = 88cm
      top and bottom sides =2*(15+20)=70cm
      Ribbon used to tie the bow = 200-88-70=42cm
      Answer = 0.42m

        3) Terence was driving from King's Gardens to Queen's Park. Halfway to his destination, his car passed Sally's car which is travelling at 84km/h in the opposite direction. 1 1/3h later, Terence reached Queen's Park while Sally was still 10km away from King's Gardens.
        (a) What was the distance between King's Gardens and Queen's Park?
        (b) What was the average speed that Terence was travelling?
        Hi

        For Speed questions, it’s useful to have a simple diagram.

        In 1 1/3h, Sally covered 84*4/3 ------112km

        Distance to midpoint -------- 112 + 10 ------ 122km

        Distance between King's Gardens and Queen's Park ------ 122*2 ------- 244 km

        Average speed of Terence ------- 122/4/3 ------ 91.5 km/h

        Best wishes

                Hi

                I think you can use MD, but I’ll use letters of the alphabet so as to save some time.

                Number of representatives in B ------- 1 box
                Number of representatives in A ------- 1 box + 18
                Number of representatives in C ------- 1 box + 18 + 6

                School A
                Boys: Girls------- 1A:3A

                School B
                Boys: Girls ------- 1B:5B

                School C
                Boys: Girls ------- 2C:5C

                1A + 1B + 2C ------ 1p
                3A + 5B + 2C ------3p

                3A + 3B +6C ------- 3p

                3A + 3B +6C ------- 3A + 5B + 2C

                Hence, you’ll get 1C ------- 2B

                Now change (2C + 5C) to 14B and do a comparison.

                14B – 6B (1B+5B) ------- 24

                8B ------- 24

                B ------- 3

                C ------- 6

                Number of representatives in C ------- 7*6 ------ 42

                Number of representatives in A ------- 42 - 6 ------ 36

                Number of representatives in C ------- 18

                Total number ------- 96

                Best wishes

                        area of shaded regions = 1/2 area of square = 1/2 x 10 x 10 = 50 cm²

                        ratio of shaded : unshaded --> 1: 3 = 50 : 150
                        Unshaded area --> 150 cm²

                        cheers.
