I keep telling myself my hub and kids deserve a better wife and mother.

This is partly why I decided to be SAHM. But my biggest hobby is buying books, which DH doesn't really approve of :spank: You will understand if you see the piles of books at home

Eh you say that make me  I'm like the most underworked SAHM in the forum, you know.

Speaking for myself too since I currently still have a maid!! The second half of your interpretation spot-on! Trying to say we shud all give ourselves a pat on the back. Actually applies to all mummies, whether SAHM, PTWM, FTWM, tai tai mom, whatever. Just provide sppt to each other in our choices πŸ™‚

Hi, I've been SAHM for about a year, but recently have \"switched\" club to FTWM... There are many reasons... For one, I've got a really nice job offer, good pay and also offers some flexibility (e.g. can leave early to pick up kids). After a while, I felt kind of sheepish to keep asking my DH for money - the allowance he gave barely meets my, mainly children's needs - cos' my kids would like to attend enrichment classes, e.g. music class, art class, theatre class (they asked for them). I don't even go for shopping, facial, etc.... I decided that I want my kids to have the resources to explore their interests & talents. Importantly, my kids are old enough for me to send them to after-school care, old enough to (sort of) take care of themselves while I'm at work (at the after-school care).

Also.... paiseh to say... life can get quite boring as SAHM for me , with no car, limited pocket money, maidless.....

Anyway, will monitor the situation, e.g. see how they cope, and if need arises, will quit of course. In the meantime, will save my salary in case I'll have to go SAHM again!!! At least right now, I'm pretty happy - my kids are doing ok, I'm feeling much more fulfilled, and I don't have to calculate the minute details how I spend money! πŸ•Ί

                    hi mommyNg,

                    can understand how you feel.

i'm maidless also, and also watch my spending. But i enjoy being a SAHM, most of the time, at least. πŸ™‚

I don't really feel bored per se. Maybe sometimes I feel frustrated having to clean up a mess for the umpteenth time, at the same spot where I told dd not to mess up, but there is never a dull moment cos there is always something to do.

Your kids are older, and I am going to reach that stage where if they're not at home I'd be at work, and for me, I actually face the necessity of going back to work, not so much for the pocket money but that I am thinking of an upgrade (to the house).

For now, cos my 3rd one is still young, I feel I need all the time I have to teach her and to be with her. I'm quite anal over certain care routines which I feel is unfair to impose on my mil or mom, or even a domestic helper. In any case, from past experience with ds1 when I was working, they (mil, helper) don't care about my instructions and just do what they wish, so I prefer to take care of the kids myself.

oh ya, :hi5: too, i don't have time for facial lei, whether I am SAHM or working! ugh...

may I reach a stage in life in future when I have time for that! πŸ™‚

Ladies, you may do facial at home. The skincare nowadays are quite good.
