School bus fare

Hi, I'm wondering how school bus fare is computed?


I'm stay between 2km away from school and the school bus fare charged $160 :yikes: for one way trip and $165 for two way trip from my place at Lorong Lew Lian to XingHua Pri Sch. Is this a reasonable amount ?!? :? Can somebody enlighten me? Thanks!

Anybody is aware if schools let parents knows how they(schools) award the bus operators for the daily kids daily ferry services? Some schools use the govt tender system(gebiz.gov.sg) and I was wondering how they evaluate the proposals from the bus service providers and should parents have a say in the evaluation of such contracts.


I am just a concerned parent who will be having a school going child soon.

Hv school bus or take public transport. I hv to chose latter cos school assigned operator said my place has no students! School at west i am still staying in west zone though. Popular sch nr home cannot get it. Not I die die want the prim school. So consider fortunate if u hv transport. I now wonder how to fetch 2 boys from kindergarten n primary school when school ends.

My son’s school bus company requires to pay the Dec and Jan school fee for only Jan riding $160 both trip.

That's really expensive. my DS's school about 4km, one way is $95 & I am already complaining and yours costs $160 for 2km distance?? really too much..

It is common for them to collect fee for june if you sign up during first half of the year, and fee for december if you sign up during second half of the year. Deposit on top of these two months, I have not come across.
