Flowermonaster:
My DS's HCL listening compre is on Friday 21 October. Perhaps the date is different cos there's a school activity this Friday.
Hi Zann, my DS taking HCL. As for MT listening, I believe all of them taking same paper regardless HCL or CL.Zann:
Flowermonaster,
No leh, my ds time table shows 13 Oct (Thurs) but I think they may make a mistake since they separate them. Is your ds taking HCL or CL. Does HCL have listening test? In my test table it labelled as CL listening test.
Any other P5 GE parents (this year or last year) can confirm whether there is listening test for HCL ? -
Hi all....:) the school gave my dd a letter from UNSW today. It is an invitation to receive a medal for icas English, at a medal presentation ceremony which will be held at Singapore Conference Hall. My dd achieved top 1% for English, math & Science last year too, but didn't receive any medal. Is this something new? Any parent knows anything abt this. TIA.

I was told medal is for top scorer in Singapore. So usually need to achieve full marks for ICAS test.
Did your dd get full marks for ICAS English this year? -
sleepy:
Hi sleepy, i dunno whatz her score for the paper, the school has not given us anything except the letter & an invitation card. In the letter, it mentioned \"you have performed in the top 1% of high achieving students in Singapore\".25hr mama:

Foe medal winner, they are the highest point scorer of the paper. Hence if your kid get full mark, definitely she is one of the medal winner as there could have more then one getting full marks or highest score.

Congrats! Top 1% is High Distinction. To receive a medal you have to be the top scorer in Singapore or have achieved full marks. Definitely something to put into your dd's DSA portfolio.

congrats 25hr mama for your dd's achievements ~
it's for the top scorers.. and doesn't have to be perfect score..
ds got a medal for math a few years ago.. but he chose not to go for the ceremony because there was a post-psle school activity on the same day. i guess for some kids it can get a little boring to sit through the whole thing..
they will send the medal to you through the school if you decide not to attend. just let them know via phone call / email ~ -
Thanks vlim & jtoh for the info. I'm elated! Sooooo happy for my dd.
